wanlorn Another slightly positive open in the works..

I am running Emma on both RIFIN and RUT today.

RUT
20100920
H = 653.40
L = 643.05
C = 651.40
P = 649.28
R1 = 655.52
R2 = 659.63
R3 = 669.98
S1 = 645.17
S2 = 638.93
S3 = 628.58

RIFIN
20100920
H = 784.65
L = 776.80
C = 777.71
P = 779.72
R1 = 782.64
R2 = 787.57
R3 = 795.42
S1 = 774.79
S2 = 771.87
S3 = 764.02

Emma for RUT, TNA TZA is slightly different than Emma for RIFIN. Above P is bullish and below P is bearish whereas P-S1 on RIFIN is Bullish and P-R1 is bearish.

EmmaRut is opening above Pivot so a Bullish day in the works watch for price to dip below Pivot line

EmmaRifin is opening between P and S1 so a Bullish day in the works watch for a swing up above P or down below S1.

membar FWIW, here are my pivots:

H = 784.65
L = 776.80
C = 777.38
P = 779.61
R1 = 782.42
R2 = 787.46
R3 = 795.31
S1 = 774.57
S2 = 771.76
S3 = 763.91

I found the stops bug in my Emma 6 and posted the new version in the strategies section.

membar My Emma says Bull Day P - S1
September 20th, 2010 09:57 AM
wanlorn I'll try and look at Emma6 later. I'm still worn out from the long drive and I'm barely awake ATM..

EmmaRUT bought TNA 42.62 @ 9:54 with stop at 42.02.
September 20th, 2010 09:59 AM
wanlorn Also having Internet difficulties so won't be trading today and posts may be late.

Sorry - I forgot you were on a trip. Is it business or vacation?
September 20th, 2010 10:02 AM
Black Swan Oh, the news is bad, but the stocks rallied before the announcement.
Luckily had a tight stop on TNA and didn't get greedy to see a 90-degree uptick after the announcement.

As part of new strategy, out of the market till 11.30. Good luck guys!
September 20th, 2010 10:07 AM
Black Swan And there I missed the uptick:-)
No regrets.. was able to scalp 23 cents on the swing.

Neither more like house keeping.. I'm fixing up wifes condo to get it on the market. 1950s construction last update in 80's. 1000sqft 2br 1bath needs bath makeover already finished the kitchen. Need trim updated throughout plus paint and flooring..

So will be very busy for a few weeks..
September 20th, 2010 10:17 AM
wanlorn BTW for Emma Rut I'm running 1.01 gain and 0.014 stop which is what came from optimizing over ytd. Its not as good as RIFIN but produced reasonable gains. I think profit was around 50% drawdown was about 13%. w/l was around 55%.

Note this month hasn't been so nice for playing RUT but todays is looking good.
September 20th, 2010 10:23 AM
Black Swan TNA on fire.. so is APC.
September 20th, 2010 10:27 AM
wanlorn Someone forgot to tell Financials the good news..

Emma RIFIN just bought FAZ 12.98 @ 10:27 stop at 12.79
September 20th, 2010 10:39 AM
wanlorn Membar did your emma enter Faz? My laptop didn't enter with calculate on bar close true. The desktop however entered with on bar close = false. Gotta love ssh tunnelling and remote desktop.
September 20th, 2010 10:54 AM
wanlorn Emma RUT sold TNA at 44.36 at 10:45

Emma RUT bought TNA at 44.73 @ 10:52 stop at 44.10

Emma Rifin stopped out at 12.79 @ 10:52
September 20th, 2010 10:59 AM
wanlorn Hmm seems there must be a bug in my code. The output window for RUT showed 8 entry signals on the last entry. I'll have to investigate.. good reason to look at emma6.

Sorry - I was away from the computer for awhile. Emma bought FAZ @ 12.97 @ 10:27 and sold @ 12.80 @ 10:52. She's still sort of in shock and hasn't bought anything since.

K that matches what I saw.. backtest of up till now showed a entry at 12.95 and stopped out @ 12.77. Not sure why on bar close true version didn't enter FAZ.. unless the flaky internet may have caused it to miss data that was backfilled..

I'll be gone rest of the day. I'll post the results when I get back.

I restarted Emma and she seems OK. Let's see if she buys again today.

predictor words of wisdom:
emma cant work in real time.
don't try to use it real time and loose.

the only good thing of emma is to have good selective entry points.
we can use those entry points with other strategies.

Nonsense. You'd be better off talking about things that you have a modicum of knowledge about. Even with today's loss, I'm up over 2% with Emma in just five trading days.

BullDog Every freaking dog has his day - Sold at 22.77 the lot I bought at 22.41 last Thursday. Holding time 2 days.

Nice. That must be a relief especially seeing the insane journey this thing has been on.

BullDog OK guys listen up - All eyes on Obama's key speech coming up. He is expected to change his tune to be more business and market friendly tone. Else the Republicans will clean house come Nov. Go Obama, Obama go!

Agreed, but your opinion is not based on a working knowledge of mechanical trading systems.
