You are right. Just when you think there is a clear direction, things go downhill. I think we have a little bit to climb before dropping now, or we drop at 12.

OK, now I'm conceding that things aren't looking too good for your stop.

wanlorn RIFIN M has temporarily held us up.. Financials are leading the market right now instead of following.. RIFIN should retest 782.5-783 after dropping to 781 watch Rifin 784.5 for resistance where we will bounce back to 782.5 - 783 temporarily. We probably will see a double test of 784.5 before breaking higher.

wanlorn OMG on a purely off topic note here did anyone else just see the airline seats shown on CNBC just now.. If those become the standard I'll never be able to fly coach again.

Here is a link to a story on it.
Airline Seats!
September 15th, 2010 01:37 PM
Black Swan Yes! I did and I would ride a horse from one city to another than sit in that seat!!

I saw a picture of the seats yesterday but didn't read the article.

It's only a matter of time before they simply administer general anesthesia and tie us together in bundles with padding on the interior walls.
September 15th, 2010 01:44 PM
wirk They have come up with a name for those seats already, cattle class seats.
September 15th, 2010 01:50 PM
wanlorn I think I'd rather be strapped to appliance hand truck leaned at a 60 - 75degree angle than sit in those..

wanlorn Good news I think Ive got the onexecution bug fixed for NT7 without having to make major changes. Optimization in progress now but running on laptop so will take 10 minutes..
September 15th, 2010 02:04 PM
wanlorn Grrr nope still got error..

Volatility has dropped off.. we keep bouncing between 782 to 783. A breakout should occur soon not so confident now that volatility is so low that it will be a break to upside.

Thanks for this.

I'm really, really tempted to cash in my chips before they take my money away from me. These last two hours are going to be rough, especially if this thing starts plummeting.

shazee Tomorrow is the bond auctions, is this possible that market goes even higher for the purpose of keeping bonds in lower price to sell?

wanlorn Had to change stops calc back to the way I did it before to fix the code for NT7.

Mysettings 8/1/9 to 9/3/10
Max drawdown = 17.28%; profit = 126.72%; trades = 630; w/l ratio = 55.71%

Yoursettings 8/1/9 to 9/3/10
Max drawdown = 23.74%; profit = 154.96%; trades = 392; w/l ratio = 43.37%

Running optimize on it now.
September 15th, 2010 02:22 PM
wanlorn Heres the 781 run finally.. it should bounce up now and keep going to 784.

Yes but my strategy isn't a day long strategy like yours.. Mine are more like 30-90 minutes in duration..

September 15th, 2010 02:42 PM
wanlorn Pivot line holding as support.. but for how long?

back to watching SPX 1121 and RIFIN 780. Financials still appear to be leading the trend..

Yes. This is tough to watch.

wanlorn Optimize 8/1/9 to 9/3/10 said gain = 1.01 and stop = 0.016
Drawdown = 16.53; Profit = 113.45%; trades = 621; w/l = 56.20%
September 15th, 2010 02:49 PM
HeidiTwit Guys - financial news goes on past 4pm, and so I'm going to be checking the forum after hours, and maybe posting. Stick around if you wish.

wanlorn Here is the code I used for NT7 that stopped throwing errors and gave same results as your code on 1/1 to 9/3 timeframe.

Hold the phone. Didn't both of our other settings show a greater profit? How is this an optimization?

wanlorn since I pulled the plug on the FAZ position I am up just over $210 for the day in real money.. looks like we may have to wait for the last 15minutes to see if Emma was right on FAZ..
Market keeps stalling out.. a breakout looks like its about to happen then we just sit there..

Nice work. These days where I have to hold 'til EOD really mess with my mind. They say the top traders are often good chess players, fencers, and other things that require psychology to mentally defeat your opponent. For me, it's mentally exhausting to have to swim the entire day in the same waters as these folks.
