membar Morning everyone.

Not sure where we go from here. This debt stuff is scary but scary times are usually times to buy. Maybe I'll wait 'til we get to DJIA 12000 again.

ISA_Coder something just happened to send AGQ plummeting about 2%. I got really lucky with a quick dead cat bounce, scalped AGQ in at 222.93 out at 223.84, about .4 percent, not plummeting again.....wow that was too close for comfort, should have just jumped into ZSL after the first 1% drop

ISA_Coder I was just reading about the whole debt thing and how it will affect gold and silver. If they do not come to an agreement or if there is a default, then gold and silver will increase dramatically (AGQ and GLD) but if there is an agreement, then these metals will decrease (ZSL and any bear gold ETFs if they exist?)

does anybody have any more insight on this topic??

I certainly don't. You can play with options: straddles or strangles if you think there's going to be an explosive move one way or another but don't know which way.

membar Thanks for encouraging me to dump my stuff yesterday, ISA_Coder. I feel like I dodged a bullet. We need to have our hand on the trigger, though, in case something happens to cause things to skyrocket again.

membar Allen: If you're listening, I'd like to get my hands on the day-to-day results of your TSK simulation to see where the discrepancies are with my backtest.

All in hindsight. I bet you wouldn't be thanking me if you dumped yesterday and it shot up another 5% today now would you?
The "professional" way would have been to have a stop with locked in profits, and to gradually raise the stop as the price increases.

My sim is just an excel file... for which I didn't take into account transaction costs. I'm wondering if this is where the discrepancy is. Anyway, I'll check it out.

Definitely keep me posted. If you want, I can send you my results.
