I'm gonna backtrack a bit since I missed some of the earlier discussions...

The Devil's Rejects
FINALLY saw this movie and DAMN was I blown away. It feels like a completely different flick from "House of 1000 Corpses" due to the directing style and music. I thought the story was excellent, the characters developed more, the acting was better, and there was more humour. And what I liked best of all...who was the real villian of this movie?

IT
Although I haven't read the book in a very long time, I do recall it as one of Stephen King's better stories. I think the movie captured the essence of the book very well. Tim Curry is brilliant and piss-in-your-pants scary as Pennywise. I found only one let-down however....
IT is a fucking spider???? :|

Gremlins
I haven't seen this movie in years. I loved it as a kid. The gremlins are still creepy to me though. I should go rent this....

Why not end the year with a light hearted horror discussion.

Inspired by such Zombie classics as "Dawn of the Dead", "The Evil Dead" and "Night of the Living Dead"...this Brit-spoof Zombie comedy romance movie...is......well....discuss!!!

I fooking love this movie! My friend and I quote it all the time.

"As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Meat is the anagram of team... I don't know what he was talking about."

I hope nobody wants to run me over with a steam roller for saying this but I just could not stand this movie.
My husband and I were watching it because he wanted to see it so badly and he cackled and carried on and I would of rather sat and had my toenails ripped off. lol

Vilia, feel free to give your opinion on Gremlins anyway.....its cool to give opinions on past movies.

Shaun of the Dead, I didnt like it when I first watched it, but the second time I liked it much more, and now I think it is very cool.

Thank ya...so on "Gremlins"....

I have forgotten how much fun this movie is. Gizmo is adorable, my heart melts when he sings!! I found the movie to be quite gorey for something that was marketed to kids, although its not too scary. Its more amusing than anything else. One issue...why didn't the Gremlins go after the nasty lady who wanted to kill the dog? She was evil!!!

I haven't seen "Shaun of the Dead" yet although I've heard good things.

Okay going into this movie, the previews made it look like a slapstick comedy with zombies. That is not what this is and after first viewing I didnt care for it. Now having said that I would watch it again and go into it for a cool zombie movie. Dont get me wrong it is a comedy but I think its more dramatic and subtle in its comedy than previews made it out to be. Now I am going to hide behind a wall so all the eggs you guys throw at me won't hit me.......

Okay, I loved the shit out of Shaun of the Dead. First off, I hate zombie movies but I saw the previews they did at SDCC 2004 and I wanted to see it. My best friend is a huuuuge zombie fan. We saw it and I've never laughed so hard at a horror movie! But here's the kicker. When the guy said "We're coming to get you Barbara!" my best friend and I were the only ones in the theater that laughed at it. And I've never seen Night of the Living Dead but I knew that line because they always show that clip. That was mindblowing.

It is a smart movie, and some of the lines are really excellent, being that they're inspired by some GREAT zombie flicks.

This is probably the best recent Brit flick I've seen, lol.......or side by side with 28 Days Later!

My favorite part is when Shaun goes into the convenience store and he opens the fridge door, doesn't notice the bloody handprint, then slips in the blood and never looks down, goes to the counter talking to the guy the whole time never noticing he's a zombie right behind him.

I think this movie is so funny! When I saw the previews, I wanted to see it right away. I'm really glad it turned out even better than I expected. There were a lot of clever moments.
