Posted July 19th, 2008 11:25 AM IP Okay so I saw this one last night, I know there is a lot of hype around this movie but it lives up to every bit of it. Amazing from start to finish, the acting is spectacular, and the story has great mob elements with many twists and turns.
Ledger does a unbelieveable job and he caputured the heart of the joker perfectly. Also Aaron Eckhart as harvey dent is a performance I feel will be overlooked do to the hype around ledger but he also does an incredible job with harvey.
More importantly Chris Nolan was born to do these batman movies and understands every bit of what every character is about.
If you liked batman begins, you will absolutely love this one!

Posted July 28th, 2008 10:31 AM IP it definitely lived up to the hype.
i'm not a huge christian bale fan so that was the only detraction for me, i just think his batman voice sounds a little too much like dirty harry and i kept expecting a 'do you feel lucky punk?' sorry. i don't know who should play batman (and i've thought about it ALOT but i just don't think it's him).
ledger nailed it.
the direction was outstanding.
the scenery was awesome.
the acting was superb.
and i think there's gonna be ALOT of people dressing up as nurses this halloween!!! lol Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy--H.L. Mencken

Posted July 28th, 2008 05:00 PM IP Whew Jen, you said it....I was afraid to for fear of having things hurled at me.....I couldn't get through Batman Begins because I did not like Bale as Batman. Your right, I'm not sure who should play him...truthfully I went to see it because of Heath and again I say he did a PERFECT job, excatly what the joker should be. I'm going to have Heath as the Joker tattooed on my thigh, hehehe! *hugs*

Posted July 29th, 2008 10:18 AM IP I think bale is a good bruce wayne and batman the only problem is his voice, its too "growly". You can't feel emotion except anger when he is batman and batman is not always angry. It does amaze me how good heath was, and I just hope they don't recast the joker......batman has enough villians to do...so I say now enter The Riddler!

Posted August 6th, 2008 08:56 AM IP Saw it yesterday and I really loved it.
Great performances. I like Bale as Bruce Wayne, and dig him as non-speaking Batman. Heck, the growly voice didn't actually bother me much. Heath Ledger was great, I went in looking objectiveley and didn't find anything to be negative about re: The Joker. Really a spectacular flick.
I agree with Richard, I hope they don't recast the joker, they can do so many others, and it seems a little "off" to recast the joker given the circumstances.

Posted October 4th, 2008 02:14 PM IP LOVED IT! Love Heath Ledger as the Joker, in particular. I'm in agreement with those re Christian Bale-- his Batman voice sounds really off! But apart from that... damn! What a great movie!

Posted March 18th, 2009 10:38 PM IP I love the Michael Keaten, Val Kilmer and George Clooney Batmans. To me the bigger then life Gotham reminds me of comic books and how those movies should be.
I have seen Dark Knight. It is a good movie but I still prefer the ones before it. It's not the same seeing a city that looks like those around us. It is too realistic.
Heath Ledger did an amazing job on his part and at the end seeing what I'm guessing is going to be two face makes me want to see the next one.

Posted June 3rd, 2009 05:50 PM IP TDK on bluray is amazing, looks and sounds fantabulous.
Ok, so I guess Christian Bale didnt annoy me as much as he did alot of other people, and though his performance was in no way the strongest in the movie, it still did what it was supposed to do. I liked Keaton as Batman, but really didn't like Kilmer or Clooney (Hell, I didn't even watch the Cloontang Batman flick because it looked so bad, lol). Anyways.....I think Bale's gotten a bad rap for his growly Batman voice. Batman should sound growly, and if it sounds cartoony at times then that's cool with me, afterall.....the whole franchise is based in cartoonyland.
Heath is awesome here, it goes without saying.
I would like to see something exciting and even darker with the next Batman flick. I would LOVE to see Crispin Glover as a villain.
Anyhoo......Batrant over, haha.
