Wall E - Bloody brilliant movie. Probably my favourite of the Pixar/Disney collabs. Looks stunning and I think I might have let out a few (masculine, mind you) awwwww's and EEEEEEEAAAAAAOOOO's.

Saw Twilight. Wasn't my choice of movie, though I did quite enjoy it. Wasn't as lame as I'd expected.

Wall-E definately was awesome. A real eye opener to what the future may hold. dun dun dunnnnn lol

I get stuck watching alot of kid movies with our son so that's what I mostly see in theaters unless I can get some time alone with my husband.

So we've seen Hotel for Dogs which was cute.

I did get to see Underworld 3, I had to see it so we took my son. I figured he had seen the other two. Not til after and my husband said we shouldn't have brought him did I htink it might not have been as cool for him as I thought. My husband thought it was a slasher film. He's never seen a slasher film. *sighs* the uninformed.

Anyway I liked it but I had issues with it though those things are explained away I guess. In my mind, vamps are awesome creatures with alot of strength and not easy to overcome yet in this movie they died way easy. The older ones were even scared of the wolves.

Other then that... I love the Underworlds... Gives me another reason to wear my Selene corset for Halloween.

Race to Witch Mountain- was good! I don't recall seeing the orginal but the Rock did a pretty good job.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall was indeed funny. That english guy is in Bedtime Stories too and he's funny in that one too.

At the theater, I saw Wolverine & Night At the Museum2.

Wolverine was jhust awesome! I was weary about them going back to the "beginning" cause I thought it would turn out like the Christian Bale Batmans. It was really good and I'm glad it ties it all together well.

Night At the Museum was fun. I loved the first one and the second was good too.

Watched on Video on Demand

Open Season 2- was not good.

Dave- was good.

Bride Wars - I liked it. I love Anne Hathaway. It's definately a girly flick.

LOVED wolverine! wanna see it again...

need to go see star trek at some point.

on video...YOU MUST GO GET FANBOYS!!!!!! it is positively one of the funniest movies i've seen in a LONG time and FULL of references for those of us who grew up in the 80's/90's...plus i'm a little partial to it because it was written by a guy that i went to school with. but seriously, it was awesome! and SO MANY CAMEOS--shatner, kevin smith, danny mcbride...the list goes on...GO GET IT! NOW!

Hangover _ I laughed so hard I cried! Especially right before the credits. lol

The pursuit of Happiness - Good but a tear jerker. My bother-in-law decides we should all watch it before bed. Not great dreams after.

Role Models - It was ok. Not as funny as I thought it might be, but I gid Paul Rudd in his latest stuff, so it was worth 90 minutes.

Office Space - Old favourite. Never gets boring.

The Family Stone - Actually a really moving movie, a bit of a twist on the usual "meet the family" comedy.

Penelope - Christina Ricci plays a girl born with the face of a piggy. Really good movie that blends a few knocks at societies obsession with appearance and folktales of curses and such. I loved it.

Transformers 2 - Liked it but then I loved the first one. I enjoy Shiloh's humor and the mom & dad make me giggle.

Coraline - I like Tim Buton movies.

Duplicity _ Not as good as it looked. Kinda slow & boring.

District 9- Wow. Good story line but it pissed me off pretty bad. Why? Because people and goverments act like that right now and would totally do something like that. The lead guy, the accents and the constant cursing took away from it a bit. It's become almost a comedy for my husband and I as we quote "foocking prauns" in that awful accent.

The Departed- Good movie but a bit long and slow at parts. I like seeing movies with multiple "known" stars in it.

Wacthed:

The Invention of Lying: It was a cute movie. Nothing outstanding.

Sherlock Holmes: Was done pretty well and played up Holmes odd side. Never let a smart man run out of things to do because things he invents for fun will be hard to explain to the authorities.

on District 9, i don't know if you read any of the articles that were written about it up until the release, but the story does follow the premise of the aparthied situation in south africa. it's just told with aliens instead of people. and that's why it was such a powerful movie. i LOVED it and felt like it should have been a serious contender for an oscar BECAUSE it was so clever in changing the face of the issue, yet bringing all those emotions to the surface...i was seriously angry and depressed after i saw that movie! it was done so well.

anywhooooo...
i watched Run Fatboy Run last night...decent, not as funny as other movies simon pegg has done.

We have about 600+ DVD's in our collection. We have some movies that have been sitting on our shelves for anywhere between 2 to 5 years, still in their original wrapping. We got stuck on watching our old favorites over and over. However, we had a much anticipated, newly purchased movie on our shelf last night that we decided needed watching...

...so, we watched James Cameron's "Avatar". I started watching the movie with a "now is this movie really as good as everyone made it sound?" attitude and was pleasantly surprised. The CGI on this movie was EXCELLENT, everything looking so real I would occassionally forget that it was CGI. Good story line, good graphics and a good end to a Friday night. Rock on.

I picked up Avatar on release day and am yet to watch it. The hype around it has made me leave it on the shelf until I feel like I can sit and enjoy it without the "WOOP"ing around me.

I watched "Crazy Heart" today with Jeff Bridges. Jeff is awesome anyway but this part if grown for him. Really cool flick and some nice songs along the way too. The dude can sing.

and chris, speaking of jeff bridges...the amateurs is my favorite movie of his...it was so funny!

My husband took me to see Eclipse for my birthday. It was sweet of him though I could have waited for it to come out on video. I thought him willing to do this for me to be really cool for him.

I didn't like it. I liked the action/fight scenes but they were entirely too short. I have read all four books and they are good. I don't get all the hype though. I have read other vampire romances that are so much better. So why this one? I guess I am not connected to this series like others so found it completely dull. The acting seemed to have gotten worse since the first film and the acting in that was pretty bad. I don't understand how a film can't get small things right.

The field of flowers was pretty cheezy because there were way too many flowers. Wild flowers in a field would not grow that perfectly symetrical. I thought I would like this film best as it was my favorite book but it was a let down. It's probally just me and not liking the too mushy vampire. I felt bad for my husband sitting through that and kept looking over at him to see if he had fallen asleep or was bored to tears.

They did add some humor between Jacob and Edward which broke up the monotomy of things. I felt things didn't flow well. Smoother transitions between scenes could have helped. I like that they added some background to the native American lore and Jasper's past.

If you do go and see this, read the fifth book she just put out first as parts of it are in the movie. The short second Life of Bree Tanner.

LOL I hear ya! I like vampires to actually be vampires!

We saw The Last Airbender on sunday. I enjoyed this movie. It was only playing in 3d which I was upset about but it ended up being a good thing. It's not exactly close to the cartoon but it was fun to watch.

Jasper from Twilight series is in it and while he looks weird in Twilight, he's hot in this movie and I am sure real life. woohoo! Couldn't keep my eyes off him!

THE BOOK OF ELI - Excellent Post Apocalyptic flick. Kind of a Mad Max meets the Bible.

ORPHAN - Creepy cool.

SHUTTER ISLAND - the movie dragged a bit, but it had an interesting ending.

I loved Orphan, I thought it was a great little horror flick.

Recently I've watched...

Chambara Beauty - Based on the japanese zombiehack and slash video games, this was so much fun. It is like a samurai sword marrid a bikini clad warrior and hurled itself into a zombie horde. WOOP.

The Crazies - Of the shitload of remakes lately I figured I'd pick this up and watch it. I liked it. I haven't actually even seen the original Romero version so my comparisons didnt exist and I found it interesting and valid. Worth a shot anyways.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - I hate Russel Brand....he is making it big in the US right now but the dude has been making UK TV lame for years and I find him irritating to say the least....but I thought this was an easy mindess little comedy. Also...it has Jonah Hill, so it's worth my time.
