2011 Submitted Proposals

TEXAS NASCAR
1: Run GT1/LMP bodies NOT PASSED
2: Lower the minimum height to 1 1/2". PASSED
3: Dissallow the current "Wing" on nascar bodies. NOT PASSED

GROUP F
1: Lower the race power for Group F to 12.6v. VOTED TO BE AT TRACK OWNERS DISCRETION
2: Limit the gear ratio NOT PASSED
3: Limit only 64 pitch gears NOT PASSED

GTP
1: No extra spray glue after group f. Track stays as is...TRACK OWNER DISCRETION

2: Reduce race power to 13.8, or whatever Nascar and Group F run on.NOT PASSED

3: Race power for qualifying PASSED
4: Change to GT1/LMP style bodies. PASSED

TSRA 12 CLASS ELIMINATED
1: Allow bearings in chassis

2: Allow bearing in endbell

USRA 12
1: No weight added or removed. As built and unmodified..NOT PASSED
2: Adopt USRA PRO rules, which only changes shunt wires. Am rules require spec tires. NOT PASSED

COBALT 12
1: Not more than 6 mag segments. 3 YEAR PHASE-OUT

OPENS
1: Remove the limit on motors! NOT PASSED

OTHER PROPOSALS/GENERAL RULES
1: International 15 is being proposed at the expense of one of the Boxstock classes.... NOT PASSED
2: When there is on odd number of entries in a class that runs more than one main; that the worst/last two people to qualify, would go to the "B main". That way if you TQ, you won't have to be at an disadvantage by running in the main with the most people. PASSED
3. Spray Glue will be run in all classes except Cobalt 12 and Group 7 Opens. NOT PASSED
4. Mid race tech is for tires only. As long as the tire is .750" or greater, car passes tech. NOT PASSED, MINIMUM TIRE DIAMETER RULE REMOVED, STILL MUST PASS 1/16" CLEARANCE AT ALL TIMES

5: Switch USRA / TSRA days. TSRA ELIMINATED
6: 27 lite added at the expense of TSRA GTP. NOT PASSED
7: Run the box classes spit, USRA up to the NAts and then TSRA.NOT PASSED
8. 27 lite added at the expense of TSRA Boxstock PASSED

Archie King will remain president with a "council" that includes the track owners.

The GTP racers who were at the meeting all agreed to this change and that it was needed because GTP has become a stagnant class with low entries. Rather than eliminating it completely, we decided on a body change. This will allow a greater diversity in bodies and a little more driving will be required on the high speed king tracks in this series. Plus, P.A. will sell a lot more bodies, LOL!

I'm rather surprised that the switch to LMP/GT1 bodies in GTP was passed. However, I do like the idea and I am looking forward to giving them a try. What is the new class called? GTLMP1?

Prediction: GTP bodies will be back in 2013. (It would be cool if the LMP/GT1 bodies could find a home in another class.)

GTP is no more Coolman.

LMP is the new class. The Gtp body will not be legal for the 2012 season.

You can still run them at your local raceway as well as the Duels in Dallas race in a couple weeks.

Maybe a switch to flexi chassis (using the same motors and bodies) would have stimulated participation, not to mention chassis sales.

GTP should be a bridge between the Falcon/Hawk motored classes and wing cars giving racers a place to develop their motor building skills. At least that's how I see it.

WELL , I THINK THE TSRA JUST LOST A COUPLE OF MORE RACERS, BETWEEN JOE AND I, PLUS I THINK THE SHOP OWNERS SHOULD REPLACE THE CURRENT BODIES WITH THE NEW ONE , CAUSE I HAVE ABOUT 50 OF THE CADILLAC STYLE !!!!!! ON TOP OF THAT , DON'T WORRY ABOUT MY RACEWAY
IN NEXT YEARS TSRA RACING SCHEDULE. I THINK I'LL JUST SIDE WITH JIM ON THAT. THANKS GUYS !!!!

How could you use 50 bodies when you show up to only 2 races? Don't blame the TSRA for you having 50 bodies, or you not showing up to the races.

If I knew that my proposal to phase in the LMP bodies by making them mandatory in 2013 wasn't going to pass as I proposed it, I wouldn't have done it. I think also that it wasn't a good idea to not let racers use up what they had.

Of all 8 races this year, only 3 had at least 8 cars in GTP. That is 5 races that couldn't fill a main.

Of the 23 racers that entered GTP this season, only one made all 8 races. And only 4 racers travel somewhere other than their home track. 12 racers in the class only raced 2 or less races. And of those 12, 4 will likely not ever race it again. So, what would you propose to fix it?

Earl, you and Joe only made two races, didn't send me any proposals and wasn't at the meeting to vote on your behalf. You're lucky the class wasn't terminated all together. I didn't want to lose the class but, it needed an update. Plus, the bodies look way cooler now. Time will tell if it is a better class by participation.

As far as your track being considered for the TSRA, I personally asked PA where you were on having it ready. Even he didn't know. So, for the 2012 season, we will stay with the same 4 tracks as this year. Let me know when I can come see your raceway and track if you seriously want to be a part of the TSRA. If not, that is fine too.

It is unfortunate that some classes have to make a change that upsets people. I am very upset that tsra box was eliminated, especially for a class like 27L. And yes I know, we have 2 box classes, but their not the same. It's like saying group f and nascar are the same because they use the same motor.

It's hard to make everyone happy. The goal is always to increase participation and competition. How to do that? Well everybody has their own opinions.

For me, I will race as much as I can as often as I can in TSRA and at DSC.
