Any pointers on where to start for the upcoming TRRA race? Gear Ratio, Guide spacing, etc...

Can't wait, 24 days and counting.

Thanks,

Ryan

I'm gonna try 9/29 gearing. The braid sits pretty high, 'bout flush some places.

That would be for retro, right? GTR a little taller?

Yeah, that's what I'm going to try in retro Can-Am. My gearing for GTR won't be valid for most since I'm going to run the PS motor again. Hopefully, someone will speak up about GTR gearing for a Falcon 7.

You should share a review on the PS motor for the peanut gallery out here.

I thought it was fine, but I'm happy with about anything. I had it geared 10/37 at WMS. I should have probably geared it 10/36 or 11/38. For what it's worth, it seems most of the top dogs in the IRRA(retro racing) prefer the PS over the Falcon. It gets hot but I'm told that they stand up to the heat just fine. You can dial just about all the brakes out of your controller and it'll still stop on a dime. I got 4th in the GTR race at WMS even though I'd missed the mark on the tires slightly. If I'd done a tad better on the tires(pretty decent, just not great) and maybe added a little lead to the C11 to settle it down a bit, who knows....

I'd run mine some and then sent it off to Hershman for refurb. I don't know everything he does, but he radiuses the brushes and runs it in before sending it back(resealed). Once I got it back, I ran it in some more on the power supply. Was it better then than straight out of the bag? I think probably it was. At any rate, I plan on running one(and hopefully ONLY one) in the GTR enduro in November.
