John still has a chance of taking the title.

Partly because PA has to drop more points.

John has to win the race and PA finish 3rd or worse to win the series. If PA TQ's, and finishes 3rd, then they will be tied. John would have the tiebreaker with the win. I can get 2nd in the series if I win/TQ and John finishes 3rd or worse.

Edit: If John wins and PA finishes 3rd they will be tied at 55 points each, but since John would have 3 wins to PA's 2, he would win the series.
