Unforunately my parents house burned in 1977 so no. But trust me I was looking good.
But I do have some pictures from the late 60's and early 70's, as well as some from the track in Garland on Marquis from 1978 to 1982. Brian you may be in them.

Ok, enough talk about the "good ol days"! When I got to the track, I took the drivers panel off. Got all the screw holes filled with bondo sanded, then I put a couple of coats of paint on it. There was some stuff that got in the paint on the racing surface , and it didn't need to be there. I wasn't happy with the way the paint came out, so "I sanded a hole in the track"; not really but I did sand the whole track by hand last-night/this morning. After cleaning the track for three hours, it was time to put a final coat of paint on the surface. It came out how I wanted; FINALLY! I will "clear" the straights Sunday or Monday. I may go ahead and strip the lanes tomorrow or Friday, if the paint gets delivered. No pictures, but just look at the last pictures I posted, and it'll still look like the same black track as before. My plan is to have all the wiring done, one week after the TSRA race in Houston, but I have been saying it would be done by the end of the month for about six months now; LOL!

The Control Panel looks very good. Remember to knock off the edges though. How long is the panel? Mine is 19' 1 1/8" total length w/ 30" between center posts. Also is it going to be regular panel or reverse(black closest to the lead-on)? If yours is 20', you could add slightly more spacing for a lead-on marshal about 8' after the staightaway starts & the lead-on turn ends. I wish mine had the extra length & I'd like to have it done that way(adding the extra length towards the lead-on. Most of us are fat or getting fatter as we get older & the longer panel is helpful. Hopefully you'll go " Red,Black,White - left to right " on the post sequence. I wish you could have come down & helped when Shelby & I were working on our track. Your track looks fantastic.

I don't remember the length, but I did make room for a marshal on the straight; I copied the drivers panel that came with the track. It will be a regular drivers panel(with red by the lead-on). I'll measure everything tonight, when I go up there.

I finally got the main straight to dead-man "cleared. Had a lot of problems doing this, but it's done now. Also got the circuit breakers and plug boxes in for the power supplies. I'm going to put some braid down Thursday.

No they won't, they are a foot and a half under the track. There will also be a box around it, so nothing can be messed with.
