Worked on the front straight yesterday. I'll need to get the sideboards back on to take out some of the dips. Today I reworked the lead-on a little, and started preparing to put the sideboards on.

The dips on the straight aren't that bad, it's an optical illusion. There is a lot of small and time consuming stuff that needs to be done now. If anybody wants to stop by and help me out any, send me a PM or call me when you'll be able to come. Thanks!

Give me a call when you are working and if I'm not busy, I'll come on over. I can be there in about an hour from your call.

So I gave Sarge a call today, and he came out and helped. We got a lot of work done, but most would never know that anything got done. We got all of the sideboards close to being ready to put back on, lots of staples to pullout. I finally got all of the legs under the track,I also got the "broken" hump coming out of the finger fixed, I glued a 2-4 to the bottom. Tomorrow after the glue is dry I'll put a few screws in it.

Did a little work today. I put on a couple of side-boards on the front straight, and sanded a small area in the donut. Just getting a feel of how I want to do it. Got some wire in last week. I've decided to run 7+/7- alternating taps, that will make them all spaced out about equal lengths apart.

John,

I'm very impressed with the way you're going about it. Sure, everyone wants you to hurry and finish so they can race; who can blame them? But doing it "right" the FIRST time will make it better for all in the long run.

Richard,

Thanks for the encouragement, sometimes it seems that I'll never get done.

You are seemingly without a "deadline" which allows you to take your time with the details. You'll know every nook, cranny and nuance of that track.

I'm impressed as well by the hard work your doing. It looks better every time you post. Looks like soon you'll be ready to refinish and braid.

Yes, I'm alive this week; last week I was sick. So I worked on the track yesterday and today. Chase came and helped out today. We got the side-boards on the main straight, got all of the the tire rubber of the track, and worked on the lead-on some more (it's finally set). I'll be working again tomorrow and Thursday on it. I hope to have all the side-boards on and have a lot of the surface sanded. It's really looking like a slot car track now. Don't have any pictures this time.

Been working on the track some recently. Chase has been helping me out. So I got all the sideboards on the main straight, dead-man, and the finger. Also got them on the inside of the back straight,lead-on, and the outside of the 90. I still have to do the inside of the 90, donut, and the outside of the lead-on. Got some of the sideboards sanded too. We have started to sand the surface. I should get some more sideboards on tomorrow. Here are some pics of the progress.
