last i had heard our track's lease was supposed to expire in november... meaning october would be the shut-down time frame...
was told that the track would be relocated to another building the VFW already had, it just needed some slight remodeling...

the sad part is that i think the track is so "used up" i don't know if it will survive a move without major renovation...

which again leaves the panhandle WITHOUT a slot car track...

i don't think anything will happen, and the track will close for goood... right now, they will not even restock parts, and you can't even buy a parma rtr of any kind...

i hate to see this happen...

even still, there's about 5 of us adult racers who spend our time and money at the track, but it's not enough...
looks like the VFW has lost all it's "fire" for the whole slot car thing...

truly sad...

i guess my point is, support your track so this doesn't happen to you... even though several of us have spent thousands of $$$, we can't get support from our own facility...

i hate to see it go for good, but i will support it till they lock me out...
(is it OK to pray that something better will come along?!?!)

Bummer Dave. It seems that tracks can be had all day long, but the problem is the building to put it in. We're lucky to have a lot of tracks in DFW area. Come race with us again sometime.

thanks for the invite... i enjoy racing there, but sure do struggle to be competitive... fun, none the less!!!

the building problem is definitely the major stumbling block... all rentals in the area are "PRIME" property, especially if you ask the landlords!!!

if i could find a few interested folks, i wonder if we could get away with a "club" type situation... then i think that track maintenance and care may be a problem...

thanks for letting me "rant"...

The one good thing about all this is that we are not going to give up on the VFW or the track. true the old king track is rough but not past its life as of yet as David G and myself spent about 2 hours working on getting some of the bad spots out of it last night. This old gem will come back to life with some help and time. Good fun and great times to be had by all who come hope to see some of you soon.
