Eliminate wing flexi and USRA boxstock. Program would be as follows:

Saturday: NASCAR, GTP, TSRA boxstock
Sunday: Cobalt 12, OPENS

doesn't anybody wanna play for blood....

personally i dont like it. for a few of reasons.

1. it reduces the amount of income tracks can make on a given race weekend.

2. against the belief of some, we can race 7 classes in a weekend and be thru at a decent time sunday afternoon.

3. we have enough races for all different types of racers.

If you completely eliminate a class without replacing it doesn't it hurt the tracks bottom line and after all without them we have no place to race

It's up to the track owner and their local schedule to help their revenue. The TSRA will not make or break a track and eliminating one class will have no major effect on a tracks revenue. However, with only 2 classes on Sunday it will allow more participation because racers will be able to get home at a decent hour. Less costs on the far traveling racers and much safer since you won't be driving home so late/early.

I agree completely with the Sunday schedule but should be able to race another class on Saturday.

The problem is finding a class that will have high participation or entice people to race. Right now having 2 boxstocks is a problem. Some people will race one or the other but not both. Why have 2 classes with 4-6 racers each when you can have one class that combines the two? I don't know of any classes that could be added that would consistently get 8+ racers. Also, reducing the classes, reduces the cost on the racer and will allow them to focus on less classes and possibly attend more races because they aren't spending as much on the other classes.

The GP."F" Class might have 8+ racers & increase participation in TSRA B/S 12's.It would be the Entry Level Wing Car Class we've been missing. It's cheap, fast, & easy to drive.

Yes the grp F class even with a full track goes by fast because of the very few track calls it has and is an ideal beginner wing class but it was not raced in Dallas first so guess it won't be added.

What the hell does that mean? Just because "H-Town" came up with a goofy new class means that noone else will follow along?

Here is my take....

we say drop the USRA classes unless the nats are in Texas. So, on a year of the nats, we get six races to test and buy and balance new setups for the nats. That doesn't make sense. The rest of the world races nats style classes and it was evident they had a handle on things at the nats. Take boxstock. In Pro, the NY'ers kicked our butts. Why, because they have raced and tested those cars at 72 grams for years. Simple. Amature BS was the same. You could see that the hometown guys were not prepared for the 72 gram cars.

I for one want to keep the USRA class so when I make the trip to VA, I am ready with tried and tested equipment. What good does it to "think outside the box" in this instance? Let's face, TSRA or USRA is NOT a beginners wing class here.

Alslo, three classes on Sunday is fine. we just need to tighten it up and stay on schedule. (Except in OK, **** that lunch was good. And the entertainment, I never realized David Watkins could win American Idol. LOL

I still say Spec 15 as the entry level wing class. We can have Mac rebuild all the motors and re-hand them out if need be. I would be happy to rebuild them.

And not the spec tires. I would say to allow whatever tire you wanted. In Am12 I killed a ton of spurs because of those tires.

How about a combined boxstock with points split between USRA and TSRA? It would be harder to enforce, but could be done.

Grp F with contender motor might be fun since it appears that I will now have a box full of Wing Flexi motors!

the problem with that is if you get tangled up with a usra car and a tsra car, the tsra car loses big time cause of the weight difference...

We need to stick to one boxstock class and I see no reason why it shouldn't be TSRA. I know Archie and Shelby remember the TSRA bs12 race in Plano, where we had 23 or 24 entries. We didn't leave the track until 3 AM, but it was a lot of fun.

Yes I remember that. Is was a lot of fun.
I don't think we necessarily need to get rid of one of the "boxstock" classes. We need to look at the TSRA 12 class as a step up. It is a different class requiring different stuff and skills. More on that later. Gotta go
