hi - can anyone tell me how to change the colour of the New Post and No New Post buttons which appear on the front page? at the moment they are both similar shades of pale blue, and it's really difficult to see if one is different from the other. thanks.

you would have to upload new buttons.
In future please post a new topic for a question, you will get a quicker reply that way.

thanks for your reply, Mod1.
could someone point me in the right direction as to where i would find a new one to upload, and where to insert the code for it. thank you.

Does your board have any particular theme? You can pretty much use any image as long as it is not too big.
Here is a board that does buttons
http://s2.excoboard.com/exco/index....p?boardid=23414
There are some other places to find buttons and other things HERE
To install them:
Save them to your pc, then upload to your image gallery on your board, copy the link. It will be the first link.
Go to CP, images, and paste the link where it says new posts/ no new posts, click submit.
You are welcome to post the link to your board, or pm it and I will see what I can do for you.

Posted February 27th, 2009 07:07 AM IP There are a few pre-made buttons that are available to you, and differ from the default buttons for your skin...... You will find them in your cp, go to images > click the small icon beside of the existing link, beside the one you wish to change, and that will open a new window, showing you your options.
By all means, mod 1's idea is better, but this is an easy / quick way to change them, untill you get the rest figured out.
Hope that helps, Bunk Have a nice day, Bunk

Posted January 28th, 2010 06:28 PM IP Hey Pat
In the thread template, you will have to locate the script for the buttons / functions that you wish to move -> then just copy and paste it to the bottom of the template, where you wish to add / move them to....... I would add the set at the bottom, and make sure that you get them where you want them to be, and that they function properly before you remove the one's that's there now, or you folks might even want to leave both sets in place......
As for the smilie in quick reply, there was a couple changes that needed to be made after the URL changes, please see here: http://excoboard.com/Support/2/1648884
Please pay close attention to Roy's directions there.
Hope this helps, Bunk

Posted January 28th, 2010 06:41 PM IP The script you are looking for (to move) should be something like this:
<td width="50%" align="right"><a href="newtopic.php?forumid={forumid}"><img alt="Post new topic" border="0" src="{newentryimage}"></a> <a href="postreply.php?threadid={threadid}&forumid={forumid}"><img alt="Post reply" border="0" src="{replyimage}"></a><br> Have a nice day, Bunk

Posted January 31st, 2010 07:44 PM IP I'm glad that helped
As for the "new post" thingy, i'm not familiar with what you are trying to remove. If you mean where it says -New Post- just above your post in the thread, i've never seen a script to do that....
Someone else might have though Have a nice day, Bunk
