1: Edit the message
2: Open tag <!-- (the very last thing you do in the mesage)
3: Don't close it.

Now the "edited by" message wont appear.
(you need to have 'Allow HTML in Posts' switched on in your Feature Settings)

Thanks Justin

Am I right in that you place that script after any post made so that the (Edited by...) message won't show? <!--
(Edited by Rose)<-showing it doesn't work to edit yourself.

Yes Rose, just put <!-- after your edit and Edited by does not show.
Try it on your test board or a dead thread in your forum.

I think it is a bit dangerous to give too many members the authority to do this.
Can you imagine the problems it could cause?

When you do edit and remove the "edited by",
be aware that if you or the OP re-edit or if anyone qoutes the post..the "edited by"
will show in the text input area.

Hi barhopper...I wrote on the other posts but will also post here. I had commented that I wouldn't give anyone that info other than admins, mods, supermods, etc. I agree with you. PLUS...I've found, it doesn't work for me to edit myself. Not sure why.

Maybe I am having a blonde moment --- but .... does the script allow a post to be edited or does it just stop the EDITED BY ?
