Posted November 19th, 2005 07:30 PM IP We all need image hosting for our boards. Some images such as board graphics really ought to be hosted in your image gallery on your board but for those special images that are only used occasionally, such as seasonal graphics. I have signed up for many that didn't allow hotlinking or ones that "branded" my images, or broke animations or required me to download their software in order to upload my pics.
Please add your favorite image host which is either free or low cost and easy to use without having to download special software.
www.photobucket.com offers free accts and paid accts. Easy uploads and with paid accts ($25.00 annually) you can ftp your images in.
Goodbye to all my friends.

Posted November 19th, 2005 08:34 PM IP http://www.villagephotos.com
is pretty ,wonderful,
&,cheap.
While I myself pay them $10 a month,
That is for ,-
a
phenomenal amount of bandwidth,a day;
&
this is allowing you over a thousand images.
They have a free version for people who use, less, images,
which is just as good.
(This too offers an unusual amount
of
-,bandwidth a day.)
They make it very easy,& you don't have to download anything.
The exco image gallery images , are also,so easy,& fast to
upload,with no blurring
of
colored words,
and,
no bleeding of the color,'red,
agaisnt
a
black surroundings.
I am using both villagephotos.com & the exco image gallery
for my exco sites, having found that it works so
well,to use both.
I can get more than the
150-kb,per,image gallery,allowance,that way.
(I my own self really need this,
as
just one of my favorite images alone, just, one image,
is
50 kb.)
Both of thse image hosters, hav been the best of others i hav tried.

Posted March 23rd, 2006 11:23 AM IP Here's also a good little script for uploading pictures.
Quote: <iframe src="http://imageshack.us/iframe.php?txtcolor=111111&type=blank&size=30" scrolling="no" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" width="280" height="70">Update your browser for ImageShack.us!</iframe> |
Add that in 'Custom Templates' in footer or thread, where ever you want realy. Gates To Hell - "Some people are on the edge. Some people are over it. I'm hang-gliding." ..... Know what I mean?

There is a section in account options at photobucket that allows you to change the file size so that gifs that are like 700kb or larger wont get all messed up and shrunk when you try to upload them.
See "Max Picture Size" and change the setting to a size that suits you better. I have mine at
1024 KB ..and no problems since changing it.

Posted January 6th, 2007 04:22 PM IP Their server was down brieftly this morning, so that gave me some reason for concern, but other than that, I like what I see! ... just trying to work out roughly how many average sized images a free account can hold?

Posted December 16th, 2009 05:20 AM IP Sorry to say, but any site offering free domains, well ... makes me learly!! (unless they want their backlink displayed on your site?)
I'd always advise signing up with a reputable hosting service and grab a free domain the right way!!
