I have a category called 'names' and would like it to link directly to the one thread is there a way to do this?

Do you mean a clickable link on the main page under the names bit? If so yes, all you have to do is control panel>Forum admin>edit names section and put this in the description part

If you mean make a catergory that only has one thread in it, then just set it so only admin can post in it, and everyone else can just read it.

Edit~ It worked =), I posted it in the name of the category so when ever you click on the title it takes you to that thread.
