I never did understand why people hide, as soon as they post you know they are there anyway, but admin know either way.

People have the right and many reasons to hide while online. I know I do it in some places because i get flooded with messages if members know im online at that moment.

I totally agree. I actually can never understand when people(Admins)want to be nazi like and deny their members abilities they can have everywhere else.
Such as the right to edit or delete their own posts or to see who's "hiding" online.
Some sites don't even allow avatars or sigs.
Personally,I wouldn't want to be a member at a site with all those restrictions.

I know why they don't allow deleting own posts, Say i posted first post on a fabulous thread and loads pf people posted on it, if i then went and deleted the first post the whole thread goes too, that is infuriating, but the edit owns posts should never be taken away, people have the right to take something they posted away, its their right as when they post something is copyright to that poster.
Also the hiding from who's online facility should be a personal choice too, Admin know who it is anyway and as soon as they post so do everyone else, but if its a lurker then they may not want to be hounded, i know a lot of people who just read and never post, but if they didn hide then they would have posters asking them why.
