I dont understand what you are trying to imply, but I think its obvious by reading the site intro, who would benefit from it. As for my position, I am sitting in front of the laptop........

Actually I wasn't implying anything but rather trying to get you to describe what your forum is about and who it is for. "Proud of our new Forum" does not begin to speak of the reason for the forum nor the intended users.

Ok...... gotcha.
Just had so many smarta** replies on these forums I thought the same was happening here.
Our site is for people who look after their own babies, children, teens, and adults who are not in a position to help themselves. Whether it be because of birth defect, or disease brought on by illness Psychological problems etc.
Our little girl was born with a disability and had to have 4 major operations in her first year, 2 of which werein her first week of being born.
By like minded people, I was to find people like us who have to battle city hall to get things done and to get what rightfully ours.
There are thousands of people out there who dont know what to do and when to do it, because they dont have the best of aftercare when leaving hospital............ I could go on, but I dont want to waste your space on here.

Suffice to say I appologise for being curt earlier in the thread.
Wont happen again, I hope you approve of the site.

We are now Domain registered for easier access, this should give us the traffic we so dearly need.
Does anyone know of any good services for getting traffic to your site apart from submission site, which in my mind cost a packet ?

Well with all the first class help and assistance from all on here, we have finally pulled together a nice looking board (we think so anyway) It is new and improved with all the features we were looking for, plus a couple i thought were just too cool to leave out.
Have a look, and let us know what you think please.

has anyone any ideas of how to promote this board outwith exco?
Although primarily it is for UK users, we do have members from around the world, information on charities and benefits that has been posted is only relevant to the UK.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

hiya, am not bumping this for the sake of it lol

I think we have finished fichering (scottish word) with the site for now and wanted some feedback.

Yes there is a lot of forums, but there needs to be due to the nature of the board.

I have contacted several womens interest and parenting magazines in the UK, and am currently targeting scottish newspapers with a press release (scottish parents of special needs children, especially feel quite isolated)

thankyou very much in advance

the board looks real nice, however I noticed my membership had been deleted.

perhaps one avenue to explore for site promotion would be a big search engine like www.Google.com or I believe you can instantly submit your web address to over 3 dozen search engines at www.37.com (good luck to you)

(if it's not EXCOBOARD, then it's not worth discussing)

Hi Anti Paul,
We never deleted you on purpose, I think that we put in the rules & regs, that anyone joining, will be removed after a specified time if there is no activity on their membership.
Apologies if this has happened to you, as I know you monitor a lot of sites, please feel free to come back and join again we will make you more than welcome.
I am glad you like the site, its down to guys & girls...... (sorry nealry missed you girls out there) on here giving us a helping hand and pointing us in the right direction that got it looking the way it is today.
I do all the techie stuff, and Debbi does all the writting & research for the site. So its a god mix...... only problem is she has a tendency to change a few things when I am not around.....but its easy to fix......... lol

thanks again for the kind words.

I just wanted to thank Shellspeare for all her wee tips about getting lurkers to post - have incorporated quite a few of the tips and they're working quite well (not for all the lurkers, but then I didn't expect it to work for everyone) and also the tips on forum junkies about sponsorship etc.

Word appears to be spreading and the board is turning into a full time job - but i ain't complaining.

Many thanks to everyone else here who has helped gibbie2210 with all the techie stuff too - without the assistance we have got here it wouldn't be nearly so good.

With the help of all the Mods & rockers on here you have help us out tremendously over the past 3 months, by this time tomorrow we will heve gone over the 1500 post mark & 8000 visits, in just 93 days.
We have been contacted by a couple of our local papers & one Sunday paper for the story, our membership is still growing, and we have taken on a couple of more moderators.
I love it, Debbi loves it and all our members are happy in the knowledge that they can come in and find what they need.
We get a lot out of this, helping others, who like us needed it when it was not there.

Thanks again for all the help, and if you know someone out there who needs anything that we provide, tell them to come along, they will always be made welcome, as you made us here.

We've started running a couple of competitions with small prizes - which seems to help some of the newbies to post.
Also, more and more of the members are now welcoming new members to the board.
All the advice here http://www.theadminzone.com/forums/...members+posters has been worth its weight in gold

Nice structure, although a little bit 'busy' at the bottom in my opinion, otherwise, great work!

Cheers Sivox, appreciate your comments, so I went and tidied it up a bit, I dont want to lose the banner box at the bottom as its a nice neat way of keeping all the links together......... well I think so anyway.

Thanks again
