Posted 02-04-10 12:01 PM IP I had the exact same feeling when I first started reading it. I gotta say though that this article is shining Coach Mac in a very bright light that we haven't seen in a few years.
The emphasis on Mac's efforts to catch up to the rest of the college football world in the extremely short time that he had (and very limited resources) is displayed well. He seems to be the coach that WANTS the Spartans to succeed. And by "wants" I mean, he's putting in the extra time and effort to go and get the best that he can. He's not letting the fact that we open against the National Champs or that we play Wisconsin and Utah on the road wear him down.
I'm very pleased with Coach Mac recruiting. When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.

Posted 02-04-10 03:48 PM IP I'm very happy with the recruiting job that Coach Mac and his staff did. But I'm not a big fan of Wilner for past discrepencies he's made regarding SJSU. Go Spartans!

Posted 02-05-10 09:45 AM IP Wilner is an idiot. The fact he covers more Cal and Stanford stories is a joke, especially when the paper he works for is in San Jose. Also it seems like him and people who comment on his message boards for the site are always so negative about everything. The guy isn't that good in my opinion and after reading this article, I too believe that it was sorta a slap in the face.
