SSBB is the only probable choice so far. Mr. Itoi said that Mother 3 is the last game in the series, and I honestly can't see where the music will go to besides Brawl. If it does, then Ness will definitely not be the lone representative for Mother anymore.

That is intresting shadic, it really brightens the fact that there might be more Earthbound character choices for brawl?. Lets hope so!.

Alright, let me tell you a story.
The Mother series is what you may know as "Earthbound". When Mother 2 came out outside of Japan in 1995, it was dubbed as "Earthbound", which most think that it's the first gane in the series, starring Ness, Paula, Pokey, and...Giygas. However, as vaguely, yet obvious mentioned above, this was only the 2nd installment of the series. The first Mother game came out on the NES in Japan (only) in 1989. However, Japan thought that the game wouldn't sell well in the US, so it was never released. When Mother 2 came out, it didn't sell well at all, leaving this game in obscurity and underratedness. Moving on to 1996, when Earthbound 64 was announced for the 64DD, the game was long in development. This game, is what is now known and what will forever be known as "Mother 3". Mother 3 was supposed to star a new cast of characters, just like Mother 2 after Mother 1 (despite the similarities between Ninten, the hero in Mother 1, and Ness). Due to the screenshots of the game, people assumed that the protagonist in the game was a rugged cowboy named Flint. There wasn't much info at all, and due to the inexperience of Shigesato Itoi's development team, the game was soon scrapped. Fast forward to 2006, rumors about Mother 3 coming back surfaced. And it was indeed true. Back in February, information and new screenshots of Mother 3 appeared on Itoi's website, starmen.net. Instead of being on a next-gen console, it would now be on the GBA. As weeks passed by, more info fo the game soon came. Since April 20th of this year, Mother 3 has been released only in Japan, and according to Famitsu, the game has been on the Top 10 Most Anticipated Games of the year. Also, according to Mr. Itoi, this is the last Mother game in the series (10 years after Earthbound!!!). I don't want to give the story away, because that's one aspect of the game that needs to be experienced on your own. Now, how is this news relevant to Brawl? Because after the news about the use of Mother 3 music in a future game, and the news of no more Mother, Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the only probable choice. And due to the great success and critical acclaim of the game, I believe the chances of a Mother 3 character being featured are extremely high.
