Posted January 17th, 2005 01:38 PM IP I mean, sure, it's fun and all. But what is it that stood out the most? What made you say, "Oh my gosh, I can't... stop... playing...!" Or something to that extent. *cough*

Posted January 17th, 2005 09:43 PM IP Other than the fact that I pwned within a matter of days, it probably was just the concept in and of itself. No other game would have Mario, Link, Kirby, and Fox all duking it out. Looking back on it, it really was quite a pioneering concept. Wonder Woman wins. HEROIC BRUTALITY.

Posted January 19th, 2005 12:23 AM IP I first saw the game on a japanese tournament thing. I was like "SWEEEEET!! I never knew there was a game like this!" Next day, I went out and bought the game and had a blast.
I also like how its not like the regular fighting games, where you have a set amount of HP. You can continue to fight as long as you are able to and I think that's really cool.

Posted January 20th, 2005 12:03 AM IP The commercial for the game! That got me to get it. But it also had Mario in it. Seeing as I love Mario games, I had to get it. I remember the days of SSB too well..... I am Dark Yoshi, the time traveling Yoshi.
I am the evil sidekick of the almighty Mistress Sheik.
Dokapon Kingdom (Wii or PS2) is a very addicting game. Buy it! ^_^
ToS, ToA, or ToV have co-op. Tell your friends and play them. No seriously, playing a Tales game on co-op is much more fun than playing it single player. Experience the awesomeness that is the Tales series!
Currently trying to beat a bunch of unfinished games, ranging from N64/PS1 era to current gen. A certain someone's curse rubbed off on me. Save yourself from the Curse of the Unfinished Video Game!

Posted January 20th, 2005 09:18 PM IP The humourous qualities...I mean Link beating up on Mario, Kirby Beating Up on Link and Jigglypuff beating up on...wait no...Jigglypuff singing...*shrugs*
It was just pure good fun that you didn't have to initially be good at or even try that hard to play.

Posted January 23rd, 2005 09:18 PM IP My cousin mentioned wanting to play it. That was the first time I heard of it. After looking it up on the Internet, I got all hyped up about playing it. Just the concept of all those different characters fantasized me. About a month before my birthday, we got a package in the mail, and I immediately opened it up (as was my costum in those days), and... Voila! Super Smash Bros.! I was so excited. Too late, my mom realized I wasn't suppsoed to see it, and grabbed it.
'Course, I had to wait an entire month, which was torture.
As soon as I finally got to play it, I was immediately addicted. I was like, "THIS IS TOO COOL!" For it is not enough to have a good mind: one must use it well. -René Descartes

What? Well, anyway, I just liked the wide assortment of characters, stages, and items from various games. When I first played, the opening video was awesome. It's not now, but it was then and I just saw it and was mezmerized... I want Falco in Brawl!

Posted January 16th, 2008 01:31 AM IP Feel free to ignore l1nkster. Anyway, again, the concept in inself captivated me, not to mention those dumb commercials. The first one was like a pay-per-view wrestling match, or something... and I'm sure everyone knows the other one... We hold beliefs as a consolation
A way to take us out of ourselves
Meditation or medication
A comfort or a promised reward
Sometimes the spirit is too strong or the flesh is too weak
Sometimes the need is just too great for the solace we seek
The suit of shining armor becomes a keen and bloody sword
A refuge for the coming night
A future of eternal light
No one gets to their heaven without a fight

Posted November 25th, 2008 07:48 PM IP I was at DY's house a long while back and he had the game. He asked me if i wanted to play/learn the game and i said yes. From there i really liked the game alot and bought my own copy later on. Same goes for Melee and Brawl. **Check the Custom Stage topic if you want any of my stages**.

Posted November 25th, 2008 08:18 PM IP 4 player free for alls baby!
Seriously though, I think the initial hook was how original it was, and all the Nintendo characters, but after that novelty wore off, it was the ability to have four people beating the tar out of each other at once that kept me going. Hai guyz, I'm off work until the start of December, contact me on MSN at ssheehand at hotmail dot com if you want to play anything!
