Posted May 15th, 2013 02:58 PM IP I have added several new programs to my collection of Open Source and Freeware software for the May 3rd Saturday Show. These include:
- An editor that converts your photos into cartoons or sketches.
- A sound editor that makes it easy to edit or remix music loops.
- A tool that tests the upload and download speeds of your internet connection, to test the unreliable numbers from your service provider.
- A network traffic monitor which tests the data flowing through your network at any moment.
I also have many programs which have been updated since the May 1st Saturday show, including antivirus, video and computer tune-up tools. I have new 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the Zorin OS, a Windows-like Linux distro based on Ubuntu.
Come by my tables Friday night or Saturday morning, to read through my What's New list, or to view the table signs with program descriptions and screenshots.
Each program comes on a separate CD. Each CD is $10, and you get a FREE CD for every 2 you purchase.
I also have 16GB USB 2.0 flash drives loaded with a collection of portable programs that run from the flash drive, when plugged into a computer running Windows or Linux. I sell these flash drives for $20. You can also boot your computer from the flash drive, to access and run the programs which make up the Hiren's Collection of bootable utilities.
Hiren's tools allow you to repair or restore a damaged Windows installation, back up your files, or even reset any Windows password. I have Hiren's on the flash drive, or as a separate, bootable CD.
I also have the new Ubuntu Linux, version 13.04 on DVD. I give away either a 32-bit or 64-bit version free with any purchase.
I will be set up Friday night between 9pm and 1am. I will be back set up Saturday morning between 7am and Noon.
