Posted May 4th, 2010 07:24 PM IP Bought a SATA drive from these guys, and it's so damaged it actually stalls the power supply and the whole system won't even power up.
They supposedly have an exchange policy, but meantime I'm out the $$ and delayed for weeks.
FYI, have them boot the drive BEFORE you lay out the cash.

Posted May 18th, 2010 04:25 PM IP Until the next sale comes around on the 5th you may want to consider seeing if the Manufacturer Warranty is still in affect. I've had the same issues arise where I purchased a HDD and it was not good but did an RMA with the manufacturer and actually gotten a new/refurbished drive in less then a week.
Just a thought.

Posted May 28th, 2010 02:42 PM IP no Joy on the warranty.
I went ahead and diagnosed the logic board and repaired the HDD only to find it had an "on time" of over 4 years and several bad sectors....
Lesson here: Buy a new drive from Microcenter's bargain table, and avoid these sellers.
I'll still enjoy the other table of great bargains!

Well it's nice (not really) to see that I am not the only one who's been duped by these guys. I bought several hard drives from these guys and not a single one has worked. Shame on me I did it again a couple weeks ago...who could pass up a 80GB SATA for $10? lol it didn't even spin up. AVOID THEM, they just reseal junk hard drives and make them look pretty.

Posted February 4th, 2011 03:53 PM IP I have to agree to an extent, with Microcenter selling 2tb's seagate 5900rpm drives for $79.99 it almost doesn't make sense to buy a used drive not knowing if it will even work or not.
HDD prices are sure coming down with SSD lurking on the horizon.

Rafael sells bad hard drives Unregistered Posts: Registered: |
Posted October 24th, 2011 01:55 PM IP Sounds to me like a guy named Rafael. one time i was out there and he made me a deal i could not refuse, sold me all the hard drives on his table- pc and laptop(about 40), told me they were all good and he had personally tested them, just to get them to my shop and find out they were all bad. the ones that were good had passwords that i could not remove. took them back a month later and he tried to tell me they only had a months warranty and it was past that. finally after not wanting to refund my money said he would give me credit on merchandise. THE NERVE OF THIS GUY! I just can't believe he's still out there doin the same thing to others!!!!!!!!!!!!
