Posted October 24th, 2009 07:49 AM IP My favorite books have been "Happy Trails; Our Life story", "the Answer is God", I also love the big fat filmographies and stuff at the end of the "King of the Cowboys, Queen of the West" Book! All in all there really only one that I can think of that I didn't like! So I've read quite a few of Dale's books. I tried reading a Gene Autry bio onetime...(I won't get kicked off the tread or something for mentioning his name will I? )...And It just didn't have the same dearness that I found in the RR/DE biographies. Their was something very different about Roy and Dales life that no one else had. It was their Faith in Christ that held them up. None of the other film cowboys had this...

Posted January 21st, 2010 06:01 PM IP I'll just have to put in a word for Dale's touching book "Angel Unaware."
I know you have probably all read this book a hundred times, but I just read it for the first time (I'm ashamed to say!) yesterday. I'd never got my hands on a copy until then when we found it at my local library - and to think I'd never looked before!
As I read I was so touched - those words must have been hard for Dale to write as she remembered Robin, but she put Robin's story into such lovely words! It has to be one of my favorites of her books. If you haven't read it I would encourage you to!
Also, I love "Happy Trails: Our Life Story." I agree with LeesaEvans - no biography that I have read is told with the same dearness. Their story and style of writing makes you feel like they are telling you the story in person!
These are just a few of my favorites...

Posted January 21st, 2010 09:10 PM IP You all are great! I am totally re-inspired to dig out 'Angel Unaware' and see what other treasures are with it. I'm pretty excited! Thanks!
I have read Dusty's 'Growing Up...' several times, once aloud so the driver could enjoy it too! This family has such a special way to connect to the reader. It's a gift.
You are all right about 'Angel Unaware'. How difficult to write, and how truly brave of Dale to share her pain with us, and help us grow. The Rogers family is so generous, and so open. No wonder we all care so much for them!
