Just discovered a great website with a posting by William Fischer, Jr. showing Roy Rogers' boyhood home and the state marker (Ohio) erected near the home. Interestingly the posting was done the day before the RR/DE Museum closed.

We are very happy and proud that Roy Rogers was born in Cincinnati, and worked here at the US Shoe Company shortly before heading to California.
(Remember the line in one of Dusty's songs about '...he learned to cobble for his pay'? That was at the US Shoe Company in Cincinnati, Ohio!)

Yes, of course we've been to Duck Run to see his boyhood home. It is still a neat and modest home. It's easy to picture little Sly playing there. It's a beautiful, rural setting!

Be sure to stop by and visit his home when you attend the Roy Rogers Festival in Portsmouth, Ohio. It's the first week of June. Make plans. We have seen how quickly our beloved events can slip away.

HAS ANYONE RECEIVED A REPORT ON SATURDAY'S CLOSING OF THE MUSEUM? WOULD LOVE TO HEAR AN EYE-WITNESS REPORT!

Stay strong, and live the Code.
