Posted May 10th, 2009 09:02 PM IPI just stumbled across this on archive.org and figured there were some people on here who'd like to hear it. It's an old recording of Dale Evans singing "I Can't Get Started with You" with a big-band style orchestra.
She starts singing about halfway through, and the recording tapers off before the song ends.

Posted May 11th, 2009 04:29 AM IPI sure appreciate you finding this recording. There is so little available with Dale's early music. I prepared an article for a past RR newsletter The Sagebrush News and only had the Dales Evans - Sweetheart of the West recording to draw on.
This is Great!!!!

Posted May 14th, 2009 09:02 PM IPYou're welcome! Glad you like it. I came across it completely by accident - I was trying to find some episodes of the radio show 'Command Performance' that the Sons of the Pioneers appeared on. I couldn't find theirs, but I found some great bits of Roy on that show, including a hilarious skit he did with Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra.

Posted May 26th, 2009 08:46 PM IPHere's another interesting recording that I don't know if you've heard - Dale with the Sons of the Pioneers in 1949. Dale and Lloyd Perryman sing a duet on a charming song called 'Love At The County Fair' by Tim and Glenn Spencer.

Posted October 29th, 2009 07:16 PM IPNew page that you simply have to check out - it's on the Doctor Macro movie photo site (really neat site, by the way). On one of the Dale Evans pages there are a bunch of Charlie McCarthy radio shows that feature her singing and a little dialogue. The shows themselves are hilarious and Dale's singing is great!
How appropriate that so many wonderful clips of Dale are being posted here around her birthday time (Halloween Day)! I'd like to add the two listed above. The first has Roy and Dale singing "The Yellow Rose of Texas." It's a joy to watch how Roy looks at Dale! The second one is the trailer for "Roll on Texas Moon." In it, we get to see and hear Roy, Dale, and Gabby. Here's hoping that Dale has a wonderful birthday with all her family and friends who have already passed over and that she knows how much she is loved by so many people still here.Rosebud's Mama
Roy and Dale showed us that the Cowboy Way is the American Way. It is ours to follow!

Posted November 1st, 2009 05:09 PM IPI also appreciate the old radio shows information. The skit with Dale, Dean (as Roy), and Jerry (as Trigger) is a very funny classic. Thanks very much!Until we meet again!
