We sometimes forget how diversified Roy Rogers/Dale Evans were in their lives. they did so much not just with tv but in real life. It would be neat to see how much info/pics of their other activites the MB's have.

My youngest loves to watch the hunting trailer of RR. He (Thunder7) sees himself as an avid hunter. He has gotten a squirrel and a rabbit. He loved when I read to him the part in Dusty's book about them camping out and living off the land.

I am so thankful to have a great role model that appeals to both my boys different interests.

I am heartened by the fact that the younger generation is getting to know and like Roy and Dale. A young saleswoman looked at the bumper sticker on my car that read "My Hero Will Always be Roy Rogers" and asked who he was. Well an hour and a half later she knew quite a bit about them. My husband had another car salesman occupied so we had plenty of time to talk. My favorite subject.

Way to go mollkate... the kids at our school in my boys classes all know who RR & DE are! hee hee... We even have some other kids hooked on RR... One boy wants to borrow Trigs RR books but we won't lend those out... Did give them the gift shop info though. Thunder7 loves the hunting/fishing info on Roy Rogers and relates that to most of the kids. When the kids were asked who their favorite musicians were Thunder7 answered: RR, Bob Nolan and Bach... hee hee.. bowled his teacher over...

He is full of surprises.. He was asked by someone at the school if he was Native American, he answered no; Hispanic, (which he is) he answered no; they went down the list of ethnic groups... finally she asked him what he was... he very calmly looked at her and said "Irish". Hee hee.. His teacher called me at home laughing to tell me that one... Oh well little brown, black eyed, black haired irishman... hee hee.. He actually is 1/8 irish... his great grandpa was 6 ft blue eye irishman... We had a good laugh...

Someone asked Thunder7 how he got so interested in fishing & hunting.. he told them it was because RR used to.. THunder7 watched the segment with Roy hunting.. and he was hooked. Ms. Susan laughed and said she had never associated RR with fishing and hunting.

I agree .... I am looking for the picture of Roy next to a Honda Motorcycle with a rifle in a hunting pose, to present to young
visitors who attend our vintage motorcycle shows.

We saw the picture years ago but have had no luck finding a
copy for our display yet.
