Howdy,
I was wondering if anyone had a listing of Roy's personal appearances or a flyer advertising/promoting the special appearance. In particular, I'm looking for appearances from the 40's, 50's in the west-central Illinois area near Jacksonville, Quincy etc... Or in the Hannibal, MO area.

bcoultas, I have seen a picture of Roy Rogers taken during an appearance at the Illinois State Fair. The appearance was around 1946. I may not have the year exactly right. I did some research concerning the possibility that he made an appearance at the Fort Madison Rodeo and found out that he was suppose to but did not. His scheduled appearance was about the time that one of his children had died. Other than that, I don't have any other knowledge of areas you are asking about. I will be curious, same as you, what others may know.

Carolyn, is the picture you're referring to the one showing Roy taking a nap on 2 bales of straw? If so, you're correct in the date, 1946. It was at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield.
