Yeah, that was good, although I'm not going to say she deserved it. It was rather mean of them to do that on her.

I don't know - she was a BRAT in that movie!

You will listen to me. Listen! The Bretheren will still be looking to us, the Black Pearl, to lead. And what will they see? Frightened bilge rats aboard a derelict ship? No! No, they will see free men and freedom! And what the enemy will see is the flash of our cannons! They will hear the ring of our swords and they will know what we can do. I don't think it was supposed to look intentional... the level was leaned on... but it was funny. she was pretty athletic... I can barely walk in a dress and heels let alone "jump" around like that... :-)

Although I've never actually tried walking in heels, I would have to concur. Although didn't ladies back then wear heels alot? Especially when dancing, I believe. So perhaps they were quite accomplished in that sort of thing.

My mom said that she used to walk 3 miles to work in heels. Back then ladies wore pumps. I used to be able to run in my heels when I was younger but now I can barely walk in them.

I can wear heels that are under an inch or so, but after that I start "tittering" around, and then my feet hurt. Though I think heels that aren't 10 inches tall are pretty!

Is there a difference between pumps and other high heeled shoes? (I've always wondered this).

Defnitley, ten inch tall heels would NOT be fun!

Yes, pumps have just little heels, high-heels are over an inch and a half or something like that.

I loved the "rooster" crow he did... at first we didn't realize it was the movie as our rooster was sitting on the porch and we thought that it was our rooster... we had a good laugh later.

I agree with my whole heart, Eldorado! Although I'm not a big John Wayne fan, there is other cowboy stars I like. But Mr. Rogers is still tops.

I totally agree! Besides that, it should relieve our parents that we're not crazy about Roy Rogers for his looks (even though he sure had 'em)! We love him for his character, his good example, and his movies! Being Roy crazy is good!

I was a great Cowboy fan when Roy rode onto the scene. I can't remember my first John Wayne cowboy picture, but I thought he was great also.

Roy and John were completely different personalities. Roy was gentle, courteous, and slow to anger. John was always rough and tough and looking for a fight. (Now I know that John's film persona was rough-and-tough; but from what I read he was really a gentle person.)

Roy Rogers, and other westerns of the day, had a moral woven into the story. You had to be honest, never fight with someone smaller than you, and obey your parents.

I've wandered off the subject, as usual. Roy was and still is my favorite cowboy. He set a good example. I would never miss a RR show when it came to the West End (Pittsburgh) theater, and now that I have the Western Channel on my cable the first thing I do is scan the show guide to see when one of his show is playing.

I made some sandwiches, coffee, and soda and watched all afternoon the day the Movie Channel was running Roy's movies. Gee, wish I had thought to record them. When they do it again I certainly will get them on my DVD.

Whoops -- got to go. I'm getting ready to saddle my pony (United Airlines) and fly to Branson for the Roy Rogers Reunion (Sponsored by Roy Rogers, Jr) in Branson, MO.

Happy Trails to You
Until We Meet Again
