Don't miss this one then...Roy, Dean Martin, Don Rickels and Dale. This one is to help us laugh a bit...however, what would you expect with Dean Martin and Don Rickels?
YouTube has some great stuff. "How can we not believe in the greatness of America?...we cannot, must not and will not turn back. We will finish our job. How could we do less? We're Americans."

How about the Roy Rogers Dale Evans Musical with Dale Robertson and the Sons of the Pioneers? It is great. It's long, though...59+ minutes...give yourself plenty of time to watch.

Be brave and upright that God may love thee. Speak the truth even if it leads you to your death. Safeguard the helpless. That is your oath. Posted January 18th, 2008 05:39 PM IP Some great Roy Rogers & Dale Evans videos have recently shown up on YouTube. Some are commercials, some are clips from their movies, some are performances with country music stars, and some are a compilation of all. There are too many to mention; so just type in their names and enjoy watching them.
There was one that stood out to me that had some footage that Roy took of his family, footage from behind-the-scenes of The Roy Rogers Show, performances, and hospital visits, even footage of Roy doing the Liberty act with the palominos!
The video was so touching I had tears in my eyes.
Here's the link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA-o9TKeaBk

Posted April 2nd, 2008 09:41 AM IP There are a few more RR & DE clips on YouTube: the title song "Susanna Pass", a Roy Rogers show ("The Phantom Rustlers", in which Little Trigger makes an appearance for running shots and tricks), Sunset in the West trailer, the Roy Rogers' Riders Club clip with Roy praying the Cowboy's Prayer, the Rose Parade during the 60s (Roy & Dale are shown besides other Western stars), and at least three cut versions of his films (Come On, Rangers, Billy the Kid Returns, & The Far Frontier). Besides those, there are some more clips of Roy singing with the Sons of the Pioneers and the Riders of the Purple Sage respectively.
I watched "The Phantom Rustlers" yesterday and really enjoyed it, especially the beginning scene in which Roy is working with Little Trigger on tricks. Throughout the episode, Little Trigger is used for a lot of the running shots (probably to give Old Trigger a break). Watch for them!
P.S. Under California Stars (divided into several parts) is also on YouTube. There is also a funny clip of the shootout scene in Alias Jesse James, in which Roy and other famous actors firing their guns make cameo appearances.

Posted April 2nd, 2008 10:35 PM IP I just came across an awesome picture-music video! A beautiful, wistful song called "Old-fashioned Love" plays with pictures of Roy & Arline, Roy with his family, Roy & Dale, Roy with his kids, etc. I had never seen any of the pictures -- except for two -- before.

No kidding?! Wow!!! How cool!!!
I actually wondered if you were the one who posted it because the name was the same, but when I saw "age: 45", I thought, "Naw! Can't be her!"
It's an awesome video, by the way! The only thing that might need to be changed is to add the h missing in old-fashioned. The pictures are great, and I love that song sung by Daniel O'Donnell! I'll have to either buy one of his CDs with "Whatever Happened to Old-fashioned Love?" on it or buy and download it from iTunes or some other such site. “Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get — only with what you are expecting to give — which is everything.” ~ Katherine Hepburn, actress

Posted May 2nd, 2008 02:55 PM IP Great music-video, RoyRogersFan! What's the name of the song and the singer?
Here's a link to a video of Roy & the Sons of the Pioneers (not the orignials) on the Barbara Mandrell Show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jxsNhG7YuE
Barbara introduces them, the SoP sing a song, and then Roy talks with Barbara some and reminisces about Gabby Hayes. Then she gets him to sing a song (is it called "Down the Trail to San Antone"?) with the SoP. Roy yodels a bit at the very end of the song. “Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get — only with what you are expecting to give — which is everything.” ~ Katherine Hepburn, actress

Btw, is there a story to the picture in the music-video of Roy and Dale lying in the snow with Dale's hand over Roy's nose? I couldn't tell if it was a movie still or a set-up shot or what. “Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get — only with what you are expecting to give — which is everything.” ~ Katherine Hepburn, actress

Posted May 5th, 2008 04:59 PM IP It's candid. It was just after their wedding, they were having a snowball fight. It's actually the third in a sequence of three pictures. The first one is R throwing a snowball at D. The second one is D just ducking it. And then the third one is that one - I think she's scrubbing his face wi one!!! She has a documentary on AmericanCowgirl.com which includes a photo of Dale (prints for sale). Its really a nice piece and I know all you kids will enjoy it because you all ride!
Also, go to Ozarksfirst.com and watch the advertisement for the museum. Just put in RoyRogers in search and it will come up. Its on a show called Tom's Market Place-local show around Branson area.
