On a whim, I searched youtube.com for Roy Rogers and happily found several video clips. One of the most touching was with the whole family, including Sandy and Debbie, on the Perry Como show -- Dusty was 10 at the time. To see Roy and Dale sing "Happy Trails" in another clip was a special treat . I know you will enjoy watching these clips as much as I did. However -- have Kleenex handy!!
May all your trails be Happy Ones.

I was equally delighted by the clips on youtube.com. I hope more are put up.
The Perry Como Show with the Rogers family is a delight to watch. It almost brought me to tears.

They were great. I loved the one with Trigger dancing. It was titled the original dancing with the stars. How true that is.

I loved the one of the whole family! Those are so neat! Thank you for sharing that with us IowaJean!

Wow..that was awesome stuff IowaJean...TY for that. Say, that little Sandy was a scene stealing little comedian cowpoke at only 9 years old was he not? And Oh, what a great smile he showed us all. No wonder RR flipped over him when lst they met on that tour in Ohio. The whole family was magic together and I hope more people tune in to this clip to relive that charm and magic of a great American family who showed us all how to do things the right way..

TY Jean for clicking that...I do a couple of Roy's old songs too there (at the very bottom) in his honour....When a Cowboy Sings a Song and Don't Fence Me In, I think is there.

A few days back I saw more clips from the Perry Como Show (November 24, 1956) which had the whole Rogers family in it. I'd only seen segments of the show before but this time the whole show is on youtube.com in several parts. They are great! Everybody see them if you have not!
Part one is a classic bit of Roy taking Trigger, Jr., on stage and Perry feeding Trigger, Jr. (I'm pretty sure it was Trigger, Jr., because he had the four white stockings and a flashy look to him). Trigger, Jr., doesn't seem interested in meeting Perry, so Roy tells Perry to give him sugar. Perry pulls some out and holds it to Roy. Roy says "Not for me -- for the horse." That made me howl!
In part two, Perry gets out his scissors and says he's itchy to snip Trigger, Jr.'s forelock. Perry assures Roy that he knows what he's doing. Roy whips out his gun and twirls it around. Perry asks him, "Roy, What are you doing?" Roy says, "I just want to make sure you're sure."

If I get the time I will put some of Roy from my vast collection of his tv appearances. I have loads of his appearances on tv from the early 80's and 90's. By the way if anyone likes the 50's singer Eddie Fisher, I already put a lot of his tv show appearances and songs on youtube. Search and enjoy. I remember watching a show in the early 50's where Roy and Fisher were on together.

Friscolobo,
It's great what you're doing.
Do you have the appearance of Roy and Dale on the "Cathedral of Tomorrow" from Ohio? That was in 1978 or so. Rex Humbard was the pastor at the time. You know, time has a way of getting away and I don't remember exactly when it was.

I had it recorded at one time but when I sold my original RR collection, it went, too.

Does anyone know if they ever performed at the Crystal Cathedral in Los Angeles? I thought that to be a lovely place...saw Schuller from a distance...he was inspecting some on-going small projects. I was like an ambulance chaser with my camcorder but lost sight of him before I could get my camcorder on and running, I lost his direction and then, my hubby and his friend saw him in Men's restroom!

I thought I would bring to everyone's attention that someone recently put up clips on www.youtube.com of some of The Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Show episodes before ABC canceled it. I haven't had time to watch much of them, but they look pretty cool.
