Posted September 16th, 2007 08:33 PM IP MB Members/Families Illness Part I cannot accept anymore postings. It has reached its maximum.
In addition...
I've just learned this evening, our son's next door neighbor has been involved in a serious motorcycle accident with the end result that he's not expected to live.
I'm heading out for Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis as soon as my meeting with Ray White is concluded.
Please pray for me that God will give me His Words to share with Richard while I'm there.
Many thanks.

Thank you for the prayers on Richard's behalf. I was unable to go today but will try to get there tomorrow.
From what I've heard, he is really in bad shape. From reports, he hit a large rock with his new Harley and almost has every part of his body either broken or smashed. It will be tough to see him but though, he is our son's neighbor, we have met and talked with him on many ocassions. Posted September 18th, 2007 10:25 AM IP Update on Richard,
I visited him in his hospital room today in Indianapolis. I'm not sure if he knew I was there or not...total sedation.
Seeing the damages to him has left me in a very depressive state.
Please continue to pray for him.
The attending nurse was very kind and even though I'm not family, she was very informative and even said that he is improving. My, what people do to themselves in light of certain accidents. MusicMan still has pain (RE/partial lung removal & ribs broken during surgery) but with his treatments behind him now he's improving each day.
Have you ever done anything that made you feel like a klutz? Well.........
I recently broke two TOES on my right foot. Don't even ask me HOW. I've never broken a bone before and now this!

Posted September 26th, 2007 10:41 AM IP My prayers are with you guys!
Today I hurt my leg, actually, I got kicked by my sister's horse. I saw it coming and tried to get out of the way but I need to be faster. Prince isn't the kind of horse to go around kicking people, only when his dominance is challenged, and let's just say I was telling him off and he didn't like that. (I was just protecting my horse) but anyways, it really hurts. There's a thin bruise where the hoof landed. Could you guys please pray for me as my abillty to move is hindered? Thanks! I'm just glad it wasn't as bad as it could of been, I mean, my sister said Prince was thinking about rearing, but he didn't. God was really protecting me! 'Weep not but think that I have past

CowboyFan, let's be careful now. If you decide to tell him off again, better do it from arm's length, eh? "How can we not believe in the greatness of America?...we cannot, must not and will not turn back. We will finish our job. How could we do less? We're Americans."

Posted September 30th, 2007 04:09 PM IP Rob, my school director, is finally supposed to have his kidney transplant surgery this week. Rob is a very private person and has not indicated on which day he is scheduled for the procedure.
I continue to read this topic and hold those in need in my thoughts and prayers.

Bev, is he giving or receiving a kidney? Receiving a kidney is not as hard as being the giver.
Nevertheless, it's a tough surgery and we'll be in prayer for him. "How can we not believe in the greatness of America?...we cannot, must not and will not turn back. We will finish our job. How could we do less? We're Americans."

Posted September 30th, 2007 06:34 PM IP Rob is the receiver of the kidney. His identical twin brother, Michael, is the donor. Rob had hoped to have this surgery last June or early July, so he would be ready when school started. There was delay after delay, then it was scheduled for the first week of September, then another delay. I would have been freaked out if it were me, but Rob has been so patient.
Thanks, Cowpokey!!

Posted September 30th, 2007 09:25 PM IP We've had first-hand experience with this as Merrijoy gave one of her kidneys to her brother years ago. The surgery transplant is much harder on the giver because of the way it has to be removed. The receiver, on the other hand, has the new kidney placed in a new location. We almost lost MJ twice because of both the procedure and then blood clotting. The decision-making of the entire transplant affects all family members and I respect and appreciate what each one is going through. If everything goes well, recovery is not long. He will have to take it slow for awhile. "How can we not believe in the greatness of America?...we cannot, must not and will not turn back. We will finish our job. How could we do less? We're Americans."

Painted Pony: Remember...I told ya about my broken big toe many years ago...occured at time we were leaving for MX and the beach and the Dr. said...no walking on the beach...HA to him...I gritted my teeth and enjoyed the beach! My toe was as big as an elephant....or it seemed so. How I did such a thing is still beyond me..oh well...you and I have a good laugh off of that now but then, the pain did not bring a smile to me!
