Posted June 22nd, 2010 02:23 AM IP  Old people talking about "the internet". Joe Lieberman's plan for the internet kill switch is of course comical and scary.
Some have asked this question: If we can just disconnect these public services (the electric grid) from the internet and it will still function fine, then why don't we just do that? If it won't function fine then haven't you, by pulling the kill switch, disabled the service the same way an attack would?
Seems to me like they just want a convenient way to censor the internet like China does. In the US we justify totalitarianism by claiming it is a matter of utmost importance for National Security.
