Posted July 13th, 2006 10:08 AM IP ok,ok....number 1,I still can't find this EVP anywhere,(stupidity strikes again) and i could listen to it,but without anything to corolate with it,and not being there when it was recorded, My opinion would be void.(besides,95% of EVP's are about as good as orbs for evidence as far as i'm concerned.)number 2... I would like to get a banner from you guys for my myspace page if you wouldn't mind. What Happens After We Find The Truth?

Posted July 13th, 2006 06:43 PM IP I know a bit of what you mean about the evp's. It's especially hard to take them in when you weren't there. That's the hardest thing about being a paranormal investigator. Trying to prove things to others.
The evp link is in the investigations link. Go to where you see 'listen' under the Fox Ridge Park investigation.
You can grab our banners at the bottom of our 'Links and Resources' area.
Thanks Bill!!!

Posted July 14th, 2006 04:58 AM IP well, honestly,i still have to stand at the skeptical look of the evp.after listening to it 100s of times,I still hear nothing to perk my interest in it. But hey, that's just because I myself was not there to see everything going on at the time the evp was caught. What Happens After We Find The Truth?

Posted July 14th, 2006 03:34 PM IP My name is Alisa. I live in northern Las Vegas. The website looks great. That EVP, something definitely got caught on there, but it doesn't sound like a child's voice. I live in Las Vegas and am fascinated by the paranormal and have been wanting to do some investigation for the longest time. I'm glad to come across others who have the same interests as I do. I'm going to try to attend that paranormal conference in October.

Posted July 14th, 2006 05:23 PM IP well, i guess my last post looked rude, well atleast to me,and i appologize.i am not discrediting the evp,if i could get a copy of it so i can run it myself,i would be very appreciative. it may be the sound quality of my speekers on this computer and would like to listen to it on our tech computer if possible. It's cool... I didn't think it sounded rude at all. Honesty is what we want to here. If everybody said "yes, it's a voice" and didn't believe it was or just wasn't sure, that does us no help. All us investigators are always learning new things as we go along and with out the help of others, it would be a lot harder.
I'm an artist also and I'm always looking for honesty on my work. Luckily I have gotten a lot of honest reviews and I can't tell you how much I've learned and matured my art because of them.
I'll email you a copy of the normal evp so you can mess with it. I messed around with it a lot myself but maybe you can figure something out. We tried many things with the recorder by whispering from different distances, rubbing it against close and fingers, blowing and breathing in it, moving it around. I even waved a fan in front of it just to see if it could have been from a light breese and still could not get the same sounds. The whispering was the closest, but to get it like that, you had to be pretty close to it. And there was nobody else around us... So we couldn't explain it naturally, so we put it up.

Posted July 15th, 2006 01:02 AM IP I did notice that your digital recorder generates a strange background noise on its own, present in all your EVP recordings. I recommend that, in the future, you use both digital and analog recorders.

Posted July 15th, 2006 04:11 PM IP Wow did Bill appologize? Scary. Just kidding Bill. Thanks for commenting on the EVP. It might be your speakers because I found another computer to finally be able to listen to it and I hear it very clear. It also has to be turned up a little to hear it. I think it's a great EVP but it's the only evidence that we really found at the park so I wouldn't jump to say that the park is haunted or anything.

Yeah, I know... The one I used is good for mostly indoors. The type you just sit somewhere and leave it alone. I want to get a more less sensitive one for out doors that can handle sounds of light wind, cars passing and other possible strange noises of mother nature.
To Bill:
I don't have a mic for it but I plan to get one. I think that could also help out a lot.
To Alexis:
It sound different on different computers. It sound just ok on my laptop but sounds great on my pc.
I'll agree with you to of not jumoing to say the place is 'haunted' Notice I put 'Possible' paranormal activity under the Fox Ridge investigation. No more then that!

Posted July 16th, 2006 12:08 AM IP ok,last bit about the evp guys.I have to hold my skeptical side at this, and if it was me,i would toss it seeing there was nothing to colaborate with it. we've passed it around to a few of the team members and it's still an open discussion to them, this is strictly my opinion. Posted July 17th, 2006 02:22 PM IP After running it through a few audio programs, boosting the gain, running it through equalizers and using several sets of speakers it still sounds nothing like a voice on my end...at least once clipped out of the context of Waldo and Geoff speaking. Heck, I TRIED to make it sound like a voice on my end...and I'm running at Max boosted gain and max volume. The softer the volume the more the rise and fall of the sound sounds like vocal inflection. I have to stand by my conclusions from the EVP thread.
While the sound is certainly unexplained it doesn't seem to be a voice. Also being told there is a voice and what it is saying REALLY ups the chances of people "hearing" the voice. That's a rather common problem.

Posted July 17th, 2006 02:46 PM IP I would put it away,do an "ongoing investigation" on the place, and if you get other evidence, put it all together and resubmit it all at once to make a better case of it. What Happens After We Find The Truth?

Posted July 17th, 2006 07:12 PM IP Yeah, I've been thinking of doing an ongoing investigation with it. I've got to talk with everyone. The park is only about a 10 minute drive from all our houses so it wouldn't be hard. I want to go back and try to see if I can create the same sound and anything else we can pick up.
Thanks guys for all the help!

Posted July 18th, 2006 08:36 AM IP Any investigation is really always the best idea. It is the height of hubris to think that, because you don't find something there in a single evening that there is nothing there at all.

Posted July 18th, 2006 02:49 PM IP So it's settled! We'll go back to Foxridge. One thing I want to do is stand by those swings again and see if we can recreate that sound at all...both holding the recorder and setting it down.
One thing to note about the EVP. We have video footage (albeit very dark footage) that captures the same conversation between myself and Geoff that is heard on the EVP. On the video footage, you cannot hear any inkling of the sound captured on the EVP. What are everyone's thoughts on that?
And on the topic, anyone know where we can get a decent video camera with night vision for relatively cheap? What is it we seek if not the truth?

Posted July 19th, 2006 08:16 AM IP Sadly, the lack of capturing the sound doesn't mean much. It is unlikely, based on how weak the sound actually was, that the camera's mic would've picked that sound up...assuming that it isn't garble generated by the recorder itself. If you look at the graphiccal representation of the audio, you can see just how weak that sound really was.
That particular recorder was generating so much background digital sound that it could very well just be the tape recorder (hence why I recommended using it and an analog recorder side by side). Remember, always use a fresh tape in the recorder when checking for EVPs. recording over other tapes can leave...ironically enough, ghosting.
I'd honestly recommend a different recorder. While it may be a nice Digital recorder it generates quite a bit of sound in the very low volume range, where you are going to be listening for EVPs. That rather makes any unidentified sounds you capture with it automatically suspect.

Posted July 22nd, 2006 11:31 PM IP You make a good point, Ceronomus. I think we should try out different recorders for different situations. It's a money thing, unfortunately! But we'll get there.
I definitely want to do the "ongoing" status for Foxridge. I wasn't impressed while we were there, but now I want to go back and try to either confirm or debunk. I don't feel comfortable yet that we've fully given it a go.
