Posted October 16th, 2007 03:04 AM IP I think we have a pretty wide spectrum of musicians and musically minded people in ND, if not on this board in general. I was thinking it'd be pretty advantageous if everyone pitched in to make a collabo type song. Guitar riffs from genre A, B, and C; vocals from punkers, metal heads, and screamers; some synths; and various drum beats and breakdowns.
I think that if we all pitched in and threw in our various artistic flare, we could make a new ND anthem!
Maybe this is just drunken 3 AM type thought, but I think it's something we could all work on together.
Who knows, maybe some super groups could come out of this...
If this type of thinking intrigues you, post on! No thought to what human hands wrought

Everyday a thousand graves

Posted October 16th, 2007 07:22 PM IP it depends on how it unravels from here, but I might be willing to toss in a riff or two.
EDIT: will I be getting paid? there was a little boy, stood on a burning log
rubbing his hands with glee
he said: "oh mother england, did you light my smile? or did you light this fire underneath?"
someday I'll be a minstrel in the gallery, I'll paint you a picture of the queen
and if sometimes I may sing to a cynical degree
it's just the nonsense that it seems

Posted October 19th, 2007 03:15 PM IP This could be fun, I'd be willing to contribute. All i can do is scream real pissed off like though. Would this be a one song thing, or just kind of play it by ear thing? Also, everyone in the state mind be hard to coordinate. But it could be fun. Posted October 21st, 2007 01:51 PM IP I'd pay over 50$ for whatever is made IF
you get matthew (former singer for The Trophy Wife / March on Varsilles/ Rush / Cyrpress Hill / Etc ) to do some screams.
maybe some Mulligan harmonys.
And the boys on the docks needed John for sure.
When they came to this country he opened the door.

Posted October 22nd, 2007 03:48 PM IP I've been thinking about this lately and maybe the way to do it would be as a 4 or 5 song e.p. sort of deal.
I think All the lyricists need to get together and each work on ideas together so we can truly collaborate on a centralized subject for each song and then we can divy out verses to a different dude (or chick) on each song, maybe have some sweet gang vocal choruses?
Guitarists and drummers would be the hard part, because everyone's styles are so unique and what not. That'll be the most labor intensive part of the whole project, so if any of you guys have an idea of how to tackle that area, jump on in.
I'm really pretty serious about trying to pull this off. So hopefully sometime in the near future we could start making phone calls or swapping e-mails and such. No thought to what human hands wrought

Posted October 22nd, 2007 05:40 PM IP a great deal like that roadrunner anniversary release.
I think its brilliant and i'd be willing to put some sort of work into it. Call me, i'm shredding at home and putting lyrics to a bunch of my independent work, and you could cut some of it for yourself.
BUT i move to colorado in november so i'd have to do my work via internet and studios in denver which i've talked to and can do some overdub work for next to free. ~Living Every Day, Dying Every Day~

Posted April 27th, 2008 06:08 PM IP I do too, All you truly need to do it is recording equipment, willing song writers and singers and there own equipment.
The best plan (to start with) would be a 3-5 song e.p. If a band wants to stick to their own genre (such as Inked said they mainly do metal) then pair them with either equal genres to give a super band kind of sound or pair them with complete opposites just for the pure adventure of it.
Regardless it would a interesting experiment, make a single e.p if it sounds awesome then we could go from there, if it sounds like a cat getting raped by a rake then put it aside and regroup a different idea.
I ain't much of a organizer but i'm willing to try, Brando i'm sure if you are willing to help me out we can easily make this happen. just have to call the other bands to see who is still on. And the boys on the docks needed John for sure.
When they came to this country he opened the door.
He said "Man I'll tell ya, they don't like our kind.
Though it starts with a fist it must end with your mind."

Posted May 4th, 2008 02:23 PM IP In the next month or so, I'm getting in on some legit recording equipment and my whole summer is basically going to be dedicated to experimenting and trying things with it, so this will be the perfect chance to get started. No thought to what human hands wrought

Posted October 17th, 2008 02:51 PM IP how about this, just like how Roadrunner did the unite thing, how about all of the ND rock, screamo, metal, hardcore, thrash, etc. bands throw in a song or two and have it judged to what will be the reps on this record of the best of ND independent music. plus we could have a few artists do designs for an album cover and possible booklet that would go with it.
just and idea.......
kyle Fuck, where the hell am I at ?
