Posted February 13th, 2009 11:11 AM IP Why would you would ask to be nominated if you strongly disagree with the fiscal policies of the administration in which you'd be serving? Some are saying it was a political move and that he was planning on resigning from the get-go; to make the new administration seem unreliable or shaky. I don't know about that but it is pretty ridiculous when his answer to reconcile differences is to just quit. What does this say about how our system works? We can't even help ourselves because we are too stubborn and blinded by ideology?

Posted February 15th, 2009 03:54 AM IP I'm also a bit shaky on that one. I'm not sure about the "ask to be nominated" part, though.
I don't know why Obama is even trying to nominate Republicans. He's trying to show good faith, but it's disingenuous.
Bipartisanship is a myth - it won't ever happen. Pragmatism involves a compromise of principles; what are Obama's principles?
Y'all online-hate me, I online-hate you. Then we'll have a beer, and no stabbings will occur.
Obama should nominate, for all positions, leftists like himself. Then, when they foul up (as is inevitable), we can all make way for
Jindal/Palin '12 Bludgeon and smite. Steal faces.
