What was (zennish)?

"the tradegy of life is that its very nature has been forgotten."

Ed said it seemed like wei wu wei to him, I said it seemed zennish. Same difference perhaps. Just words, associations, pointing at the same moon.

A lot of Wei Wu Wei's writings are "zennish". One of his great works is entitled, "WHY LAZARUS LAUGHED: The Essential Doctrine, Zen--Advaita--Tantra" He writes a lot about Zen, but primarily to show the similarities in it with the other great non-dual philosophies.

They all really say the same thing: Tao, Zen, Advaita, Tantra, Sufism, Tantra, Gnostic Christianity, Buddhism. If we get rid of the "interpretations" and listen to the core of the message, they all tell us exactly the same thing.

"Bye and Bye comes the Great Awakening, and we find that this life is really a great dream...Then we are embraced in Obliterating Unity. There is a perfect adaptation to whatever may happen - and so we complete our alotted span." - Chuang Tzu, ch.11

We know absolutely nothing of the nature or essence of God: -- in order to comprehend what he is, we should have to be God ourselves.

Innocence and wonder can be found again in the midst of bitterness and cynicism, and they have the surprising strength to push back the edge of night.

He who strikes the first blow admits he's lost the argument.

I can win an argument on any topic, against any opponent. People know this, and steer clear of me at parties. Often, as a sign of their great respect, they don't even invite me.

Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.

compassion doesn't seem to be an expression of self.

it seems to be more the expression of the nature of essence that is the manifestation of loving kindness in the stillness of the present moment.

Or what are our nature is when we remember to reside in stillness.

Aesop (620 BC - 560 BC), The Eagle and the Arrow

If you want to make peace, you don't talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies.

Moshe Dayan

Reveal not every secret you have to a friend, for how can you tell but that friend may hereafter become an enemy. And bring not all mischief you are able to upon an enemy, for he may one day become your friend.

I find it humbling to think that all the energy that is life comes from the sun, and that plants manage to turn light into matter, which is something i don't think man can do as yet.

But maybe he could do it once, when he was still reincarnating as plants....and now lives of them. What do you think?
