Posted September 5th, 2009 01:47 PM IP I need someone to help me. My daughter just had a baby on Wednesday. The baby is going thru withdrawals. Our family doesn't know about the methadone. We want to keep that private, but they are asking questions about why the baby is in the NICU. She will probably be there for 2 more weeks. Does anyone know of something I could say to satisfy them? They are concerned and love this baby so much. I feel so helpless. I'm trying my best to filter for my daughter, so she doesn't have to, but I don't know what to say anymore.
Please help.
Thank you,
Sharon Proud mom of 4 great kids and now a proud grandma to our first grandbaby.

Posted October 30th, 2009 09:17 PM IP You sound like an excellent mom, going through alot, and alot like what my mom is probably going to go through when my baby is born. As far as an excuse goes, maybe you could say something like, there was some fluid on the babies lungs and that they are just keeping the baby for observation, and not to worry? Sorry I'm not much help...
