Posted November 30th, 2007 11:33 PM IP I just wanted to give an update because it has been so long. Well it was very hard at first when my son was born, he was in the NICU for three weeks detoxing. it was the worst feeling on earth. But it did not take long for him to get off of the morphine ( they had him off of that before he left the hospital) then another couple months for him to be off of the Phenobarb (sp?). And now he is a very smart one year old who is the size of a two year old. His doctor goes on and on about how develop mentally advanced he is, because he is. He is and has been doing things way before any of his friends. When it comes to physical things he is right on track. He is a big boy so it took a little longer for him to crawl. But he is amazing, and so beautiful. I can't believe it has been over a year since I was a big old pregnant woman sitting on this computer putting up post after post about how scared I was that the methadone was going to hurt him. It made him uncomfortable for a couple days until they got him on the right doses of morphine and phenobarb but after that he did fine and was taken down off of them without a hitch. I want to say thank you to everyone who gave me such great support throughout my pregnancy. I wish more people knew about this site and came to it more often.
So there is my update. Thanks everyone. Libby, artist, mom of a wonderfull baby boy.
