You can see how hazy the sky is above the boats....from all of the smoke. The conference was right during the fires in San Diego. and the conference begins! The star of this AATOD Forum....Melissa Wann!! Part of the PSCEP group...(from left to right).....Chris Kelley/ARM, Fred Christie/AFIRM and Mark Beresky/Medication Assisted Treatment. I live only about an hour and a half from New York City, I want to be a CMA, officially, lol. The volunteers basically get a Free Ride into the conference. They sit through the awesome classes/ workshops and get to talk to all of the interesting people from all over. My old friend/ counselor did this when it was in Tampa, Florida ( this was before I even knew what AATOD was, LOL) You should definitely look into it though...I dont know if they put you up in the hotel for free, but I know they have free lunches for the volunteers and stuff like that. You get a AATOD Shirt, or a couple of them, and AATOD Bag, just like the rest of the people at the conference, etc... Anyway, I would definitely look into it now, before it gets filled up...that is...if your interested. You could also go to the CMA class too, because its on the first day and I dont think volunteers have to be there for that yet. Anyway, I am glad you like the pictures, I wish there were more, but at least we got these, right? Sorry if I got off the subject of pictures...but I am excited for you since you live so close! All the volunteers I have ever talked to loved being there...they all felt like it was a true gift! If I were you I would check it out girlfriend! I am going to go to the AATOD website and start emailing them. I would pay for the hotel, I really want to go to the CMA class. Hopefully one day Mississippi will have something to educate them more about methadone b/c people around here are so uneducated!! Some think subox is a miricle but think methadone is just soooo bad! oh well and it is simply b/c they just don't know anything about it but the Anna Nicole saga!!! zenith *MODERATOR* Posts: 1216 Registered: Apr 2005  Posted March 23rd, 2008 12:56 PM   IP              Well, I am so dang huge looking in that picture--but I never took good photos even when I weighed 113 lbs. I had to let poor Carol put SOMETHING up, I guess! Interstingly, someone posted on the HARMD message board something about how fat I was and that they had seen a photo of me "pre-methadone" when I was thin and what a horrible change methadone had made in me. The fact is, I have been this size since my late 20's and didn't start methadone til I was almost 40, so methadone has nothing to do with my size--and the person who wrote the post knows that, too.
