Noo that a new film is oot re the stone of destiny, did ye ken that een o' the four students that recovered the stone on xmas day 1950 from Westminster Abbey wis a Kintore Loon?
Gavin Vernon wis born in Kintore in1926 the son o' a doctor. He completed his national service in the army afore gaun te Glasgow University far he studied electrical engineering. He gid te Canada in the 1960's and joked that he niver hid te buy a beer again fin his identity wis kint.
Gavin died in Canada in 2004
