| after last weeks thrashing of anstey and glenfield morale was high within the team. however this didnt last long as bob lost the toss and was back in the shed after scoring only 5. enter wig who joined snash although it didnt last long as snash was out for 5 not long after bob. next in was vinny one of the heros from the glenfield game and he and wig started to steady the ship before a rather silly pull shot from wig lead to him playing on for 13. enter james bennett another hero from last week and he continued in the same fashion with a couple of early boundaries. but then disaster vinny was caught behind 1 ball before the drinks for 28. bennett continued with support from iain who made 2, steve who made 2 ( i think) before big adam went out to join him. james was nxt out caught well at long on for 29. lew followed shortley for 1 and keith 0 ( keith leaving a straight one) ment John had to join ads with the score 98-9. after some nervy momments including a stumping chance and two dropped catches Ainsworth got settled and started playing more confidently before making the rooke mistake. he removed his top only to be caught next ball leaving Glen with 118. not a bad effort giving the bowlers something to bowl at. keith started with a nice maden followed by one from Ainsworth before the ivanhoe batsmen started to score runs. after 12 overs ainsworth was brought out of the attack with snash comming on.keith had one more before being taken out and bob brought himself on after 3 or 4 overs of these two bowling snash got the break through trapping the batsmen lbw. then the net two settled down with one taking a liking to bob. bob came out after 4 overs and iain hill came on for 3 overs with no success. Ainsworth came back on down the hill and seemed to bowl quicker and sent in a few yorkers with no success. after the batsmen took a liking to snash keith came on. with the score tied he got another wicket caught by steve bird at gully. the final run came off Ainsworths 10 th over after a push to james bennett. a good throw and the batsman would have been out by yards. an annoying and painful afternoon endured by glen better luck next week |
