1st XI
Home to Anstey & Glenfield
A & G 191 a.o (Jamie Snashall 5-63)
GG 119 all out (Bob Lee 31)
Disappointing first loss of the season after a bright start to the campaign. A West Indies like batting collapse after a solid start to the innings being the main cause for the defeat.
2nd XI
Away to Anstey & Glenfield.
GG Batted First, 176 for 9. (Pete Foster 48, Collis Smith 38, Sodhi 26)
A & G 178 for 8. ( John Ainsworth 3 for 47, Smith 2 for 32, Dave Pitcher 2 for 36)
Anstey and Glenfield won with only 1 ball to spare in a very tight encounter.
Sunday Team
Away to The Wheel. 35 overs per side (hosted by Illston Abey CC)
GG batted first. 135 all out (Collis Smith 69)
The Wheel 125 all out. (William Buckley 3 wickets, all cleaned bowled!)
Tight victory for the Sunday side in their first outing of the season. Despite having to borrow two players from the Wheel it was an excellent start for new Sunday skipper John Ainsworth. Glen were always in control after an excellent start to the Wheel innings including a wicket from the first ball of the innings by Max Fisher.
