Posted January 15th, 2006 12:47 PM IP I'm reading a book now that claims that JC was one of twins.
Has anybody heard a reference to this before?
It's the first time I've came accross this theory.

Posted January 15th, 2006 02:49 PM IP Likewise I've heard of his older brother James, but not a twin. Regards, Peter

Posted January 15th, 2006 02:54 PM IP Yes, James was known as James Didiymus(sp?), or James the Twin.
I don't recall offhand if that title is used in the "accepted" Gospels, but it is used in the so- called Gnostic Gospels.
It's not definitive whether this reference means that he was Jesus' biological twin, or something more esoteric. Gnostic Christian writing and custom has James as the one to carry on Christ's work, and the first Bishop of the Church of Jerusalem. Dave Mavity

Posted January 15th, 2006 04:02 PM IP According to this author's research, the twin was called Judas Didiymus or Judas Thomas, not to be confused with Judas Escariot who was somebody else altogether.
Perhaps Judas Didiymus and James the Just are one and the same.
Then again...perhaps not.

Skiendhu
Is this "The Bible Frauc" by Bushby?
http://www.joshuabooks.com/bushby/b...algif/fraud.htm
He maintains that the recorded Jesus is a composite of 2 historical figures.
It is a good read
