Posted November 22nd, 2009 05:18 AM IP I am curious to know if anyone out there has had the privilege of discovering the light in this particular mystery (the mystery of the Olive). I found it to be profound, containing the very essence of the speculative science we find ourselves orbiting. When the revelation at the core of the mystery made itself available to me, I found myself rethinking everything, changed. I have never heard the mystery vocalized, a true diamond in the rough...foreign, rare, profound.
I feel as though it deserves its own degree, as it truly shed light on the purpose for our quest. I dare not unveil the mystery all at once for I found the true source of light to be in the discovery. I will say however, that it does not relate to the sprig of acacia in the traditional sense nor does it draw from Oliver (though I know he would find this mystery particularly interesting considering his stance).
If this is a new topic for you, I urge you to seek out the mystery. It will be worth the investigation. If you have already discovered this precious stone, please share your light.

Posted November 22nd, 2009 02:27 PM IP I assume that this is a reference to an interpretation of the words of Saul of Tarsus, or Paul as he later became known. Another example of one man's opinion, interesting enough though, particularly for those with a religious affiliation. Practical experience is the best teacher

Traditionally the olive tree was a gift to the human race - by Athena. Athena was regarded as the leader of the Seven Liberal Arts and Sciences
As for anointing with olive oil, that seems to be a later variation of anointing the Egyptian kings (before pharaohs) with the fat of the messeh - hence messiah.
The connotation of shining is interesting and suggests some connection with enlightenment. In the East the ficus religiosa traditionally supports the process of enlightenment (by what mechanism?) and it is quite possible that the olive tree does the same.
Am I getting warm?

Posted November 23rd, 2009 09:50 AM IP Thanks for the greetings. I am new to the forum...just introduced myself. I will elaborate on my vague post when I get some time to try and put it on paper. It will take some time to think through. All good thoughts though! Looking forward to new dialogues...
Random question...can you set the forum to email me as threads develop? I couldn't find the option. Thanks in advance.
