Posted 1st September 2011 08:41 PM IP As far as I know, Baz, a player for whom I have a huge admiration, [as a player that is] eventually got out of his contract with us - despite a signing on fee and contract ongoing - by sitting out some months before signing for Sunnybank as a transfer , the fee then being due to us.
I have no information to the effect that Sunnybank ever honoured that or paid us a penny despite Baz playing for them when the money was still due.
Now he has been signed by Huntly, presumably as a transfer from Sunnybank. Do they [Sunnybank] then get a transfer fee from Huntly, and the player a signing fee too without us getting money from Sunnybank for the original transfer or the player repaying any of the [think about it,] 3 signing on fees [from FUFC, Sunnybank and presumably Huntly]?
It seems like you can take a car from a garage, promise to pay for it but don't give them the money and still sell it on to somebody else and trouser the money.
Surely this isn't right?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thoughts, facts, observations please.

Posted 3rd September 2011 10:58 PM IP I have no idea what his contractual situation was at Formartine when he left, but it was very disappointing to lose him in the manner that we did. He was a quality player for us and I have no doubt that he still is. I guess that he had his reasons for leaving and that is up to him.
The way things have turned out I would be surprised if Sunnybank paid a fee for Baz. Therefore I'm inclined to think that either his contract was terminated or he was loaned to Sunnybank?

Posted 4th September 2011 10:36 AM IP If he didn't want to play for us, for whatever reason, then good riddance!
If Sunnybank and subsequently Huntly were daft enough to pay a fee for a player who might pull the same sort of trick on them, then more fool them.
The malaise of badge kissing and false loyalty seems to be spreading throughout the game and is, it seems, sadly reaching down to SHFL level.
If you sign on the dotted line for anything in life you should honour that committment, unless an honourable solution is agreed by all parties.
Pre-Bosman and clubs basically owning players was wrong but it's been replaced by a cloak and dagger attitude throughout the game that is even worse.
Ah well, life just reflects the Soaps in the end these days doesn't it!
