So, in order to pass the smog, I wanna ask how many miles I should put on my car after I resetting the CEL by removing battery -ve terminal

drive the car on the freeway for like 15 mins to heat up the cat and then go to the smog place, when you get there dont turn off your car or your cat will cool down

well, I did exactly what you suggested but still fail the test. It fails the "CEL" and it says recent reset has been detected

are you using an obd1 ecu? on my si when i was still obd2 i reset the ecu while waiting to get smogged and still passed, never heard of the 'recent reset' thing

stock ecu, I believe its obd2?

it says "this vehicle failed the MIL/CEL test due to failure to successfully complete all OBD self tests.

Not everything is gonna be "ready" after 15 mins of driving. That's how they found out you recently reseted because some will still be "incomplete"

the on-board tests take like less than 10 secs to complete...

The guy that inspected my car said the samething. He told me to drive for like around 50 miles then bring it back.

Yeah. In order for everything to come up in an OBD2 reader they tell us to drive aorund 60 miles, 1 hour or a full day of driving depending on how far you go. Id try again today

200 miles in one day is alot lol thats like 3 hours of driving
